A Cab Driver Was Critically Injured Due To A Cab-Bus Collision

A  Cab Driver was critically injured and hospitalized after the Cab he was driving colliding with a Private Bus at Hatton ,Vanrajawatte area in Hatton-Bagawanthalawa main Road last evening(08).

The Critically injured Driver was admitted to the Dikoya Base Hospital for treatment.

The Cab was severely damaged due to the head on collision accident it has been reported.Hatton Police are conducting an investigations over the incident.

Tressury Issued Rs.5 Miilon To The Agriculture Ministry To Purchase Unsold Pumpkin Harvest Of Farmers-A Private Food Chain Has Already Purchased A Large Amount Of Unsold Pumpkins

Image result for sri lanka pumpkinsThe Treasury Has issued Rs.5 Million to the Ministry Of Agriculture to purchase  the unsold harvest of Pumpkins of the farmers in many areas and issued it to the Market.

The Treasury has issued the funds to the Ministry as per a request made by the new Agriculture Minister Mahinda Amaraweera to prevent Pumpkin Farmers of becomes bankrupt it has been announced.

However one of the largest food chains in the country Cargills Private Limited had recently purchase a large stock of Pumpkin harvest to be sold through the Cargills Food Cities throughout the island and help the Pumpkin farmers to earn money from their harvest .Cargills Food Cities are currently involved in a special project of selling the purchased Pumpkin harvest of local farmers and under it every customer who have purchased goods worth more than Rs.750 from  Cargills Food Cities will be provided 500 Grammes of Pumpkin free of charge it has been reported.

Court Permission Given To FCID To Question Former Central Bank Governor Ajith Cabral Over A Finacial Irregularity

Related imageThe Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne had yesterday(08) given permission to the the Police Financial Crimes Investigation Unit (FCID) to question and record a statement from the former Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivad Cabral over misappropriation of  state funds worth Rs.689 Million by creating a project to get the chance to host  this year's Commonwealth Games  in Hambanthota,Sri Lanka.
The fort magistrate has also granted permission to FCID to investigate the former Central Bank Governor's bank accounts.

The Project "TWD -Hambanthota " was created in 2012 during the previous government to get a chance to host this year's Commonwealth Games.However the chance of hosting the event was awarded to Gold Coast ,Australia. 

A Large Number Of Electrical Equipment Worth Millions Of Rupees Have Been Destroyed Due To A Sudden Fire Erupted In A Store Of A Duty Free Shop

A large number of Electrical Equipment worth Millions of Rupees have been destroyed due to a sudden fire erupted in a Store belonging to a Duty free shop of a Private Company in Katunayake,Bandaranaike International Airport this morning(09).

Due to the fire a large number of Electrical Equipment in the store including Television sets,Refrigerators ,Gas Cookers and Washing Machines have been burnt and destroyed and the toxic gas occurred as a result of the fire spreads to several areas of the building where the store is located it has been reported.

However the fire trucks arrived at the scene had doused the fire before spreading it further .The cause of the fire not yet been revealed.

Three Sluice gates of the Udawalawe Reservoir will be opened tonight (08)
due to the rising water levels of the Udawalawe reservoir caused due to the heavy showers prevailing in the area at present according to the Disaster Management Center.
