Court Permission Given To FCID To Question Former Central Bank Governor Ajith Cabral Over A Finacial Irregularity

The Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne had yesterday(08) given permission to the the Police Financial Crimes Investigation Unit (FCID) to question and record a statement from the former Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivad Cabral over misappropriation of  state funds worth Rs.689 Million by creating a project to get the chance to host  this year's Commonwealth Games  in Hambanthota,Sri Lanka.
The fort magistrate has also granted permission to FCID to investigate the former Central Bank Governor's bank accounts.

The Project "TWD -Hambanthota " was created in 2012 during the previous government to get a chance to host this year's Commonwealth Games.However the chance of hosting the event was awarded to Gold Coast ,Australia.
