Government To Reduce Milk Powder Prices

Government has decided to reduce the Price of Imported Milk Powder by Rs,100-150 according to the Minister of Trade Nalin Fernando.

.The scheduled price reduction will be implemented with effect from this friday(15) the Minister has,stated .This Price reduction is,due to be implemented as a result of the reduced prices of Milk powder in the world market he has stressed .

University Non Academic Staff Strike To Continue

Non Academic Staff attached to 17 State Universities have launched an islamdwide strike since last noon (12) by demanding to rectify their salary increments as promised at a meeting held on 22nd of January.

A Female Was Killed And Her Husband Waa, Committed Suicide In Ampara

A female was stabbed to death by her husband and later the killer had committed suicide by hanging himself at a hotel at Arugambe tourist zone in Potuwil ,Amapara District yestetday(12).

The two deceased persons had arrived at the hotel yesterday and booked a room there and stayed it has been revealed.Ampara Police are conducting an investigation over the incident.

A Suspect Arrested Over The Killing Of A Monk Shot Dead

A suspect who was in custody over the killing of a Buddhist Monk in a temple at Malwathuhiripitiya area has been shot dead by the police when atrempting to escape from the Police custody according to Police.

Policemen fired gun shots towards the deceased when he had attempted to escape after taking him to recover weapons allegedly hidden by him in yatawaka area at Attanagalle(Western Province) it has been revealed.The suspect was arrested by the Police at Monaragala area on suspicion of the killing of a Buddhist Monk at Malwathuhiripitiya area .
