A suspect who was in custody over the killing of a Buddhist Monk in a temple at Malwathuhiripitiya area has been shot dead by the police when atrempting to escape from the Police custody according to Police.
Policemen fired gun shots towards the deceased when he had attempted to escape after taking him to recover weapons allegedly hidden by him in yatawaka area at Attanagalle(Western Province) it has been revealed.The suspect was arrested by the Police at Monaragala area on suspicion of the killing of a Buddhist Monk at Malwathuhiripitiya area .
