Customs Recovered 35 KG Of Hashish From The Airport

 Airport Customs officers had recovered 35 Kilo Grammes of narcotic Hasish stored in five bags attempting to transport into the country at the Goods terminal in Katunayake IInternational Airport today(03).


The stock of Hashish recovered at the Airport is worth  around Rs.42 Million it has been revealed.These bags were sent to a parcel delivary agency in Sri Lanka  from Italy according to the officials .However the receiver of these bags have not yet been identified and the Police natcotic bureau are investigating  on the incident.

Sri Lanka Will Not Carry out An International Inquiry On Easter Sunday Attack-President

President Ranil Wkramasinghe had stated that Sri lankan government will not carryout an International inquiry on any issue  including the Easter sunday attacks occurred in 2019 during an interview with an International Broadcaster "DeutsCh Welle"  TV in Germany.

CEYPETCO And LIOC Had Increased The Prices Of All Fuel Varities

Ceylon Petroleum  Corporation (CEYPETCO ) and Lanka Indian Oil Company(LIOC)  had increased the Prices of all varities of Fuel  with effect from.last evening (01) according to the two companies .

Accordingly the Price


a Liter of Lanka Petrol  Octane-92 had been increased by Rs.4 Price of a Liter of Lanka,Petrol Octane-95 by Rs .3 ,A liter of Lanka  Diesel by Rs.10 , A  liter of Lanka Super Diesel by Rs.62 and a Liter of Kerosene by Rs.11 CEYPETCO  and LIOC companies had announced.

With the new price increase the prices of All fuel varities are - A liter of a,Lanka Petrol Octane -92 -Rs.365,Lanka Petrol Octane-95 Rs.420,Lanka Diesel-Rs.351 ,Lanka,Super Diesel -Rs.421,Kerosene oil -Rs.242.

Earlier the new petroleum company Sinopac had increaed the prices of  all varities of fuel with effect from yesterday (01)



More Than 5000 Persons Affected Due To Heavy Showers

More than 5000 persons are being affected Due to the heavy showers experiencing in many parts of the island at present according to the  Disaster Management Center .Accordingly  around 5051 persons are being affected due to the heavy showers.


Majority of these persons around 3247 are being resided in Matara District the Center had stated.Heavy showers and fallen trees had put them in to this situation the Center has revealed.

Meanwhile the Met department had yesterday(30)  announced that the prevailing  adverse weather conditions will continue for another week.

A Retired Bank Officer Was Arrested Whilst Transporting Agarwood

 The Anti Corruption Unit  of the Walana Police in Panadura(Western province) had arrested a retired Bank Officer whilst transporting around 45 Kilo Grammes of expensive "Agarwood" known as Wallapatta from his Motor car today (01) at the Junction near North Calido  beach in Kalutara district .


Police had taken the motor car of the suspect into custody  after the inspection according to  the reports. .The suspected Bank officer is a resident of Beruwela area it has been revealed.
