Popular Actor Amarasiri Kalansuriya Is No More

 Popular and veteran Cinema and Tele drama Actor Amarasiri Kalansuriya had passed away yesterday (01) at the age of 82.He had entered the local cinema from the "Hanthane Kathawa " film   screened in 1969 and performed in many popular films afterwards  including "Ahas Gawwa" , "Parithyaagaya and Yasa Isusur .

 He had won Best critics award as well  as President's and Saarasawiya " awards for best supporting role .He is a popular actor in Sinhala Cinema in 1970's and also became the first local tele drama actor through his role in "Dimuthu Muthu".

                        

A Youth Had Drowned Wwhilst Bathing In Kelani River

A 21 Year old youth had drowned and died whilst bathing in Kelani River near Mapitigama Bridge last Friday (31) it has been reported ,

The deceased youth was a resident of Habaragala area in Kandy and worked at a Private company in Kaduwela area (Colombo) it has been reported.The incident had occurred when the deceased was bathing along with another three of his friends it has been revealed .Two others bathed with the deceased had also drifted away with rough sea waves when they had attempted to save him but the life saving guards attached to the Sri Lanka Navy had saved them

Two Persons Were Hospitalized With Burn Injuries Due To Vehicle Collision

 Two persons were hospitalized with burn injuries due to a Car -Three wheeler collision occurred at Dehiwala flyover bridge last evening (31).

The fire that broke out as a result of the Vehicle collision caused burn injuries to the  three wheeler driver and the Motor car driver .However the three females and two males travelled  in the Motor car at the time of the incident  had escaped after jumping out from the Car just  minutes before the fire was broken  out .

The incident occurred when the Three wheeler driver had attempted to overtake another vehicle at the Dehiwala flyover bridge .Fire brigade  attached to the Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia Municipal council had doused the fire.
