Sixteen Persons Had Been Injured And Hospitalized Due To A Bus-Lorry Collision

 Sixteen persons had been injured and hospitalized due to a Bus -Lorry collision occurred at  Suduwalimankada area in Wadduwa today (02)Accident | Daily News

The accident occurred when a  Lorry collided with the rare side of a Bus transporting employees of a Garment factory from Kalutara to Panadura area  ,The accident occurred as a result of the Lorry driver falling  a sleep whilst at the Wheel ,

Wadduwa Police had arrested the Lorry driver regarding the incident and conducting further investigations over the incident .

Police Stopped A Mass Protest Heading Towards Colombo Fort Railway Station Against State Suppression

  .Sri Lanka Police had stopped a massive protest march against the state suppression   commenced  opposite the Elphinstone Theater in Maradana(Colombo District ) this noon (02) ,near the Maradana Railway station .Colombo mass protest ends at the Police blockade

The Protest march was attended by multiple groups including over 150 trade unions and mass organizations as well as 20 political parties including main opposition Samagi Janabalawegaya (SJB) Party ,Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) ,Front line Socialist party and the 43rd Brigade was stopped by the Police deployed to provide security  in the Colombo City when the protesters marched towards Colombo Fort Railway station .However the leftist Jathika Janabalawegaya lead by Jantha Wimukthi Peramuna (JVP) had  not participated the Protest march .Heated words exchanged between the protestors and the Police officers when the Police had attempted to prevent the Protestors from reaching Colombo Fort railway station .

Earlier Police had issued a letter to  the organizers of the Protest march stating  that a permission will not be granted  to protest opposite the Colombo Fort Railway station and nearby area .The letter issued by the Police Superintendent has stated that the protest would lead a traffic congestion as well as affecting the movements of tourists,

China Donated 10.6 Million Liters Of Diesel To Sri Lanka

A Person Had Sentenced A Life Time Imprionment

 Colombo High Court Judge Nawaratne Marasinghe  had today (01) sentenced a person who was arrested for keeping 4 kilo grammes of Heroin in his possession life time imprisonment  .Opting for Litigation? Recent Supreme Court Judgement All CE

The Death Of A Farmer In Kabithigollawa Leads TO A Death OF A Police Officer

According to the Kabithigollawa Headquarter police five persons including a Buddhist monk had been arrested over the tense situation that occurred after a wild elephant killed the farmer .

The farmer who was killed due to a wild elephant attack was a resident of Thittagonawa area in Kabithigollawa and the Police sergeant who was killed due to an attack made by a villager was a resident of Wariyapaola area .
