Sri Lanka Degraded As A Low Income Country -Later The Decision Reveresed Back

Cabinet has today (11) approved a Proposal suggesting Sri Lanka to be degraded as a low income country from a medium income country .The Cabinet Spokesman Bandula Gunawardana has announced this during the Cabinet Press briefing held in Colombo this morning . However the Government has this evening announced that Sri Lanka will remain as a Medium income Country further .

Eleven School Children In Kotagala Area Were Hospitlaized Due To An Illness

Eleven School children attached to an Estate sector school at Kotagala area in Thalawakale,Nuwara-Eliya District (Hill Country ) had fallen sick with Cold and Fever and admitted to the Kotagala Provincial Hospital today (11). . Parents: How Sick is Too Sick to Go to School? | Cedars-Sinai

Accordingly 06 female students and 05 male students were admitted to the Kotragala Hospital and currently they are receiving treatment for their illness. .

Prices Of Laugfs Gas Cylinders Had Been Reduced

The Laugfs Gas Company has decided to reduce the Prices of it's 12.5 KG And 5KG Gas Cylinders by Rs.500 and Rs.200 respectively with effect from midnight tonight (11). Laugfs gas nearly exhausted: Imports to be stopped soon?

Accordingly the new prices of Laugfs Gas will be 12.5 KG Gas cylinder -Rs.5300 and 5 KG Gas Cylinder-Rs.2120.

A Ship Carrying 99,000 Metric Tones Of Crude Oil Is Still At The Colombo Harbor Due To A Payment Issue

Due to the non availability of Foreign reserves in the country A ship carrying 99,000 Metric tones of Crude oil is still being anchored at the Colombo harbor it has been reported . CLIO photo

Although there's a facility to make the payment for the Crude oil ship a month after the unloading the Crude oil stocks, the ship is being kept in the sea since 17 days without a reason according to the reports .

On the other hand Sapugaskande Oil Refinery was also shut down recently .
