Former Minister Basil Rajapakshe Resigned From MP Post -Businessman Dhammika Perera Replaced Him

As the former Minister of Economics Basil Rajapakshe had resigned from his MP Post as well as given up his political career due to the requests made by many sections of the society the Ruling Sri Lanka Podujan Peramuna (SLPP) had decided to appoint well known local businessman Dhammika Perera to the National List MP Post vacant as a result of the resignation of Former Minister .

Businessman Dhammika Perera had already taken the membership of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna(SLPP) and his name had been sent to the Election commission as well according to the government .A Gazette notification too had been issued regarding the appointment of Dhammika Perera as a National List MP from SLPP .

Two Hours And Fifteen Minutes Long Power Cut To Be Imposed For Few Days -CEB

Although there were no power cuts imposed on the island in the last few days ,Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) again began daily power cuts from today (10) due to the shortage of Fuel and water to generate power the Board had announced.

Accordingly there will be two hours and fifteen minutes long daily Island wide power cut scheduled to be imposed on 13th of June and from 15th of June to 18th of June and one hour power cut to be imposed on 14th of June and 19th of June the Board had stated ,

Litro Gas Chairman Had Resigned

Chairman of the Main local gas supplier Litro Gas Company ,Engineer Vijitha Herath had resigned from his post today (10) due to the Company's inability to pay the amount needed to pay for the Ship carrying 3900 Metric tons of Gas arrived at Colombo harbor two days back .

As a result of the US Dollars shortage faced by the country, authorities had not issued the required amount needed to pay for the ship to clear the stock of Gas it has been reported .

Meanwhile Litro Gas Company had today requested the Public not to be in queues in front of the Gas sale outlets as there will be no distribution of Gas tomorrow (11).

A 21 Year Old Was Killed Due To An Accident In Hathraliyadda,Kandy

A 21 year old youth was killed and another had been injured and hospitalized after the Van they were travelling in had veering off the road and fallen into a 35 feet deep precipice at Muruddeniya area in Hathraliyadda ,Kandy (Central Province) today (10).

As Van was collided with a nearby School Building a window of that Building was also damaged it has been reported .Hathraliyadda Police are investigating on the incident ,
