Prices Of Vegetables And Rice Are On The Increase

 Prices of Rice varieties and Vegetable in the open market are on the increase at present  as a result of the recent fuel price hike it has been reported  Prices of vegetables in  economic centers throughout the island  which are opened today (17) are being also high  the sources had  stated ,


Meanwhile All Gas  and Milk Powder Companies had requested the Consumer Affairs authority to allow to increase the prices of Gas and Milk Powder citing the prices of Gas and Milk Powder in world  market has increased ,However the authority has not yet given approval for these requests it has been learnt ,However Consumer Affairs Authority has refused to give permission to Milk Powder companies to increase the prices of Milk Powder it has been revealed ,

1561 Persons Were Arrested Yesterday (16)Over Violating Quarantine Laws

 1561 Persons had been arrested during   yesterday (16) over violating quarantine laws according to Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana .This is the highest number of arrests made so far on a single day over violating quarantine laws DIG Rohana has stated .


Accordingly majority of these arrests which was 228  were made in Kuliyapitiya area and 165 were in Kandy district DIG Rohana has stated .

Police had sent back 105 persons who had attempted to cross from  one province to  another violating quarantine laws it had been reported .
