Sri Lankan Nursing Officer Has Made A Ventilator Can Be Used For 04 Patients At Once

Nursing Officer Binal HaputhanthrI 
attached to the Cardiac Intensive Care unit of the Kandy National Hospital has made a ventilator which can ventilate 04 patients at once with the cost of Rs. 4 million  .

The nursing Officer had created this ventilator for the use of Corona virus patients who needs to be ventilated when the functioning of their lungs are being failed .

The new ventilator was handed over to the Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi during a function held today at the Health Ministry.

Sri Lankan Airlines To Cut Salaries Of The Staff -To Be Suspended All Flights From 08-21st Of April

Sri Lankan Airlines Authorities have decided to cut down the
salaries of Sri Lankan Airlines staff by 25 percent and grant them compulsory no pay leave as a result  of the severe global crisis faced by the International Aviation industry due to the corona virus  .

All annual salary increments scheduled to be given to the Airlines staff this year are also to be suspended with immediate effect.

Earlier Sri Lankan Airlines has decided to stop all flights   from 08 -21st of April in view of the current global crisis occurred as a result of Corona virus . 

Cremation Of The Third Corona Virus Victim Has Done In Kotikawatta

The cremation of the third Corona
Virus Victim who has died last night (01)whilst transferring to IDH Hospital Angoda from Sri Jayawardanapura Teaching Hospital ,at udumulla crematorium in Kotikawatta -Mulleriyawa this noon (02).

The cremation of the victim has done according to International Quarantine rules  it had been revealed. A group of protesters had opposed the creamtion of tje victim at the cremarorium.

Meanwhile around 400 persons who had closely contacted the victim at his flat in Arnold ratnayake road in Maradana  had  sent to Punani Quarantine center this evening for a 14 day quarantine. The victim was believed to be infected with the virus from his nephew who came to sri.lanka a week ago after visiting abroad .

The victim had taken medicine for his illness from Colombo National Hospital ten days ago and then from.a dispensary it has been revealed .His nephew had visited the Royal -Saint Thomas annual Cricket match according to reports. 

The way  international quarantine law came in to force regarding a  corona virus Death is given below . 

AUTOPSY PRACTICE AND DISPOSAL OF DEADBODY COVID-19 related deaths could be categorized arbitrarily into 4 groups: Category I Death following confirmed Corona Viral Infection (COVID-19) • 

Method of disposal - An inquest is not required. - Minimum handling. - Viewing of the body only by close relative/s is allowed in a pre-designated area in hospital. - No embalming/No autopsy (medico-legal or pathological). The body cannot be taken home. - Place the body in a body bag and seal. - Body should not be viewed after sealing. - Funeral undertaker should place sealed body bag in a coffin for transportation (coffin should be preferably sealed) - The body should be cremated within 24 hours (preferably within 12 hours). In case of death occurring in the ward /ICU /ETU:  Only use designated body bags or a suitable alternative.  The dead body should be handled by the attending staff and put in the body bag and kept in a pre-designated place.  If the death occurred in ICU, the body should be removed from the machines and placed in a pre-designated area. Supervision of disposal should be done by MOH/ PHI .

Five New Corona Virus Cases And One Corona Dearh Had Been Reported From Sri Lanka Today (02)

Five new Corona Virus positives and
the fourth Corona positive Death had been reported from Sri Lanka today (02)according to Health Ministry.

Accordingly with the new Corona virus positives reported today the total number of Corona positives reported from the country has been increased to 151.

The fourth corona virus victim has died today  (02 ) at National Infectious Diseases Hospital at Angoda due to severe Neumonia he had suffered with Ministry has stated.

The victim was a 58 year old male it has been reported .Last night also a Corona Death has been reported .

Up to now 21 corona virus positives had recovered fully and discharged from Hospitals and around 126 corona virus positives are being treated at 03 Government Hospitals.

Another 251 corona virus suspected cases are being treated at 28 government Hospitals according to Epidemeology Unit.
