Remanded MP Ranjan Ramanayake Produeced Before A Voice Test

Remanded MP Ranjan Ramanayake had
been produced before the Government Analyst's Departmemt last morning   (07)for a voice test by the Prison Authorities to check whether his voice is the one including in the telephone conversations   contains in controversial leaked audio clips .

After facing the voice test MP Ramanayake had left the Department it has been revealed. He had been produced before the Government Analyst 's Department according to a court order. .

Government Analyst Department is scheduled to check whether the voice samples of MP Ramanayake in the audio clips receieved by the department for tests   are true or not .

The report of the Government Analyst's Departmemt regarding the voice test is scheduled to be submitted to the court .

MP Ramanayake had revealed in.court recently that most of the leaked  audio clips of his telecasted by a private channel had been distorted .


Four Youth Had Been Killed Due To A Road Accident

Four youth of the ages 17-19 years had
been killed and the Cab driver had been critically injured and Hospitalized  after the cab they were travelling in veered off the road and crashed with a parked Lorry at Digana road  , Malpatha in Manikhinna area ,Kandy in the wee hours of this morning  ( 08).

The five of the critically injured had been admitted to Manikhinna Hospital where four youth had succombed to their injuries.

The deceased had been identified as residents of Uhana ,Mahiyanganaya and Trincomalee areas .

Manikhinna Police are conducting an investigations on the incident.

One Out Of A Hundred Persons In Sri Lanka Suffering From A Stroke -Dr.Padma Gunaratna


Stroke patients in Sri Lanka are on the increase and 01 out of 100 population is suffering from a stroke in some stage of that  person 's life according to a new study conducted by a group of local doctors the veteran Neurologist Dr.Padma Gunaratna has stated last Thursday (06).

Due to the higher life expectancy of Females in Sri Lanka majority of  Stroke patients reported from Sri Lanka are females She has stressed .

Speaking at a Media Seminar and A press briefing held at Health Promotions Bureau in Colombo on 'Stroke " last Thursday morning (06) Dr.Gunaratna has said that during last six months number of stroke patients admitted to five leading government hosputals including Colombo National Hospital had been increased and there's a need to improve Hospital wards and bed capacity for Stroke patients in Government Hospitals to address the situation. 

High cholesterol ,High Blood Preassure,bad food habits , obesity /Overweight Liquor consumption, smoking ,diabetes are known as the risk factors which lead to stroke according to Consultamt Neurologist In Colombo National Hospital Dr. Gamini Pathirana. 

If someone has Developed these symptoms the person should be admitted to the nearest Hospital to receive teatment he has stressed. 

Stroke is being identified as the second leading cause of death in Sri Lanka and third leading cause of death in hospitals .

Daily Chinese Arrivals To Sri Lanka Has Been Dropped To 30 -Female Student Admitted To BadUlla Hospital Not Suffering From Corona Virus -Health Ministry

Although Sri Lanka hasn't restricted the
arrival of Chinese Nationals due to the ongoing Corona virus outbreak, the daily arrivals of Chinese Nationals  has been dropped to  30  persons   instead of thousands of Chinese who came earlier according to Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi.

Sri Lanka however requested those who are planning to come here from Wuhan city and Hubei Province where the Corona Virus epidemic is spreading rapidly To cancel or postpone their planned  trips to Sri Lanka  through the chinese  embassy in Colombo  and this might have caused the reduction of Chinese arrivals    Minister has stressed  during a press briefing held on the Corona virus outbreak at the Health Ministry auditorium in Colombo last Thursday  (06) evening ..

Also Sri Lankan Embassy in Beijing,China too appealed  the Chinese Nationals in Hubei Province especially in Wuhan city  not to visit Sri Lanka these days Health Minister Wanniarachchi has revealed.

Immigration and Emigration Department had also  instructed the supervisors of working sites and Officers to restrict the movements of Chinese employees here to logging place and the working area as a precautionary meassure to avoid spreading corona virus here Minister has said .

Health Minister has stated that government has managed to avoid spreading Corona virus in the country and no need to panic over this ,We should built a special place with safety kits and everything that needs to prevent a future epidemics similar to Corona virus .The students arrived in from Wuhan Are doing well at the moment without any Corona virus Neumonia symptoms. "She has stressed.

Addressing the briefing DIrector of Epidemeology Unit Dr.Sudath Samaraweera has stated around 14 Corona virus suspected cases are currently being admitted to 09 Hospitals including the Infectious Diseases Hospital in Angoda and most of them seems to be suffering from Influenza -A virus currently spreading in some areas in the country due to the current weather .

"A panic situation arisen when a Sri Lankan female student arrived in Sri Lanka from China had been admitted to BadUlla General Hospital couple of days back .However she is not infected with the coroma virus and only admitted her due to having a sore throat .However she came from a place 1000 Kilo meters away from the Hubei Province in China  where the Corona virus epidemic spreading rapidly " Dr Samaraweera has pointed out.

Director General of Health Services Dr.Anil Jasinghe who has been appointed as the new vice president of the executive committee in  World Health Organization too spoke at the press briefing .
