People Are Being Advised Not To Expose Much To Sun Rays These Days Due To Hot Weather Conditions In 14 Districts -Requested To Drink Plenty Of Water

As around 14 Districts of the island are currently experiencing hot sunny weather conditions ,Health authorities have advised the public to protect themselves from sun rays by using a quality sun glasses,Umberella or a cap as well as drinking plenty of water daily in view of preventing dehydration.

Drnking water is essential these days even everytime after urinating  according to Health Promotions Bureau.

To prevent harm to the skin applying quality sun cream 30 minutes before going outdoors is essential the Bureau  has said.

Wearing light colored cloths ,Keeping a water bottle near the fan to prevent body from releasing moisture will be useful according to Doctors.

Special attention should be paid towards elderly over the age of 60,Pregnant mothers ,Infants and those suffering from non communicable diseases it has been announced.

To prevent heat stroke or any other illnesses always try to minimize working outdoors exposing towards sun these days Doctors are requesting those who are working many hours outdoors especially construction workers ,Nattamis etc.

If someone developes hot weather related illnesses always seek proper medical advise it has been stated.

Coconut Development Authority To Take Stetn Action Against Low Quality Coconut Oil Manufacturers

As there are complaints regarding a business of  mixing polluted Coconut oil disposed from Devala's and Temples with normal Coconut oil and releasing into the local Market by some traders,Coconut Development Authority has decided to check the all Coconut oil products before releasing them to  market through labs and paste the quality status  of these products in labels according to the Authority.


There are so many complsints received from the public regarding quality issues of some Coconut oil products in the market the Authority has stressed.

A stern action will he taken against those involved in these illegal trade practices Coconut Development Authority Chairman Udaya Rupasinghe has stressed.People are being requested to complaint regarding low quality Coconut oil products in the market to the numbers  001-502501/02/03 of the flying squad of the Authority .

Fake Ghee Manufacturer Was Only Fined For Making Fake Ghee In Wattala

Consumer Affairs Authoriry had recently  raided a fake Ghee oil maufactiring factory in Wattala and taken into custody around 115 containers contains animal fat parts ,fake Ghee and palm oil .

When these fake Ghee samples had been tested at Industrial Research Institute in Colombo it has been revealed that the Ghee has been made by mixing Animal fat and Palm oil according to authorities.

The owner of the Fake Ghee Maufacturing Factory had been found guilty after being arrested and produced him before the Wattala Magistrate Court.However Magistrate Court has only fined him Rs.10,000.

Two Nigerian Nationals Had Been Arrested Over Staying In The Country Illegally

Nigerian Nationals over staying in Sri Lanka illegally without valid visa docuememts at a house in Gamini Road ,Rathmalana last evening(08).

The two suspects who are 35 and 21 years of age are due to be produced before Mount Lavinia Magistrate court today (09)

Minister Lakshman Kiriella Has Ordered To Remove Night Bazasrs Barbequing Meat At Dalada Weediya(Street)

Lakashman Kiriella has yesterday(08)told in  parliament that he has ordered the Kandy district mayor to remove all night bazaars in Dalada Street Kandy (Near sacred Dalada Maligawa) which barbaqueing meat  with immediatte effect.

Chief Buddhist prelates of the country  Venerable Theros attached to Malwatte and Asgiriya chapters have also expressed displeassure over these night bazasrs Minister Kiriella has said .

He has revealed this by responding to a question raised by United National Party (UNP) M.Velu Kumar.
