A 17 Year Old Person Has Been Arrested With A Haul Of Heroin

Crimes Investigation Unit in Mount Lavinia Police Division have  arrested a 17 year old youth with  2 Grammes and 200 Mili Grammes of Heroin in his possession at Ratmalana area(Colombo) last evening  (30).

The suspect who is a resident of "Araliya"housing scheme in Ratmalana has been handed over to Mount Lavinia Police with the haul of Heroin taken in to custody , to take  legal Action against him .

Three Members Of "Ava"Group Had Been Arrested In Jaffna

ChunnaKam Police have arrested three

youth believes  to  be members of "Ava"  group with seven swords in their  possession last night (30)in Jaffna .

The suspects had been arrested in Kokkuwil   and Ottumadam areas in Jaffna it has been revealed.

The Motor Car Parade which will be travelling from Colombo to Mahiyanganaya ,due to be reached Devundara ,Matara tonight it has been revealed.

It will ends at Mahiyanganaya tomorrow  (02 ).

The "Ship of Justice " has commenced from Colombo Municipal  Council this morning after performing  religious observances and Premier of good governance government Ranil Wikramasinghe has addressed the gathering before commencing it .

A Person Was Arrested Over The Killing Of Two Police Constables

• KilinochchI Police have arrested a
  
  person today (01)at Wattakachchiya area in KilinochchI  (Northern Province  )over the killing of two police Constables near the Vavnathivu police post in Batticaloa last  morning  (30).

The 48 year old suspect had been handed over to the group of Criminal Investigations Department  (CID) officers arrived in Batticaloa yesterday ftom Colombo for further investigations over the killings .

It is believed that someone shot and killed the two Police Constables who were 28 and 35 years old as a revenge against removing decorations made in Pandiadi Cemetery  recently to commemorate LTTE Members by the Police.

The gunmen who had shot and killed two Police Constables fled away by steeling firearms belonging to.them.The deceased Police Constables had been shot at their heads it has been revealed during their post mortem held in Batticaloa Hospital .

Meanwhile  Police Department has promoted two Police Constables who were killed in Batticaloa to the rank of Police Sargent. 

A Baby Tusker Had Been Shot And Killed At Udawalawa

A Baby Tusker  around 10-12

years old had been shot and killed by someone last evening  (30) near Udawalawa Reservoir it has been reported.

The body of the Baby Tusker had been recovered this morning (01) and during the post mortem conducted today it has been revealed the Tusker was shot and killed by using a Gun  and he has received four gun shot wounds to his body including to his head area .

According to villagers they have seen the Baby Tusker who had separated from his Herd since sometime back had came out from the Elephant fence in  Udawalawa reserve and walking towards fifth post village. Although the villagers had informed on this to the Wild Life officers in Udawalawa they didn't take any action regarding it villagers said .

After the post mortem the body of the Baby Tusker had been buried today .

Wild Life officers along with officers attached to  Udawalawa reserve have launched an investigation over the incident. Police have also launched an investigation to arrest the shooters who killed the Tusker.
