A Person Was Killed Due To Three Wheeler-Train Collision

A 62 year old Three Wheeler Driver
was killed after the Three Wheeler he was driving in colliding with a Train travelling from Colombo Fort to Awissawella at a Railway crossing in Kalinga Road  ,Kirulapona last    evening (25).

The incident occurred when the Three Wheeler had attempted to cross the rail track at the time Train has arrived  it has been revealed.

The deceased was a resident of PitI Pana south.

Wild Life Officers Had Rescued A Baby Elephant Stuck In Mud At Kantale

Wild Life Office had rescued and treated an Elephant Calf around four years old who had stuck in mud of a Vaan Canal reserve in Kantale last evening  (25).

After being informed by Wild Life officers attached to Kantale Wild Life office Wild Life officers attached to Girithale Wild Life office had arrived at the scene and rescued the Baby Elephant after struggling hours it has been revealed.

After taking the Baby Elephant out from mud veterinary surgeons had treated his gun shot wounds .

Three Youth Who Had Taken Photographs Half Naked At A Pidurangala Rock And Shared In FB Arrested

Sigiriya Police have today (26)arrested
three youth who had involved in taking photographs  half naked at Pidurangala Historical rock in front of Sigiriya and Pidurangala Rajamaha Temple and shared them in Facebook .

The suspects are residents of Galewela, Kurunagala and out of them two posed for the photographs half naked and third youth was the one who photographed them according to Police.

The suspects had studied at Maliyadeva Boys School in Kurunagala and sat for the G.C.E Advanced Level Examination last August it has been revealed.

They had been arrested over the charges of Displaying obscene photographs in Facebook and had done an act which can  lead to   chaos or insulting Religious feelings at a historical Rock according to Police.

The three suspects are due to be produced before the Dambulle District Court tomorrow (27).

Police are conducting an investigations to arrest the remain suspects involved in  the incident. 

Price Of A 12.5 KG Domestic Litro Gas Cylinder To Be Increased By Rs.195 From Tonight

The price of a 12.5 Kilo Gramme
Domestic  Litro Gas Cylinder is  scheduled to be increased by Rs.195 with effect from midnight tonight (26).

The price of a 12.5 Kilo Gramme Gas Cylinder will be increased as per the decision taken by Cost Of Living Committee. Gas Companies had earlier requested the government to increase the price of a Gas Cylinder due to the rising prices of Gas in world market  and Cabinet too agreed to increasing  it and had informed it to Cost of Living Committee which finally recommended the Rs.195 price increase.

According to the new price increase a 12.5 Kilo Gramme Domestic Litro Gas Cylinder price will be increased from Rs.1538 to Rs.1733 with effect from midnight tonight .

The price will be changed from District to District according to Litro Gas Company .
