A Development Officer Was Arrested While Accepting A Bribe
A Development Officer attached to the
Aliyadivembu Pradeshiya Saba (Local Government Council) in Akkaraipattu was arrested by the Bribery Commission officials today (23) while accepting Rs.45,000 as a bribe from a person at a shop in Akkaraipattu.
The Bribe was taken by the suspected Development officer from a person to issue checques related to the money allocated by the Ministry for projects as soon as possible it has been revealed.
A legal action is due to be taken against the suspect.

Two Persons Were Critically Injured Due To Car-Bus Collision
Two persons including a member of a
Sri Lankan Army had been critically injured and hospitalized after the Car they were travelling in Colliding with a State owned Sri Lanka Transport Boand Bus (SLTB) at Paranthan area in KilinochchI (Northern Province) this noon (23).
The injured were admitted to the KilinochchI Base Hospital for treatment.
The Car was severely damaged due to the incident
The accident occurred as the driver of the car unable to control the speed of the vehicle according to Police.

Transfers Of Twenty Five Prison Officials Had Been Suspended By Prison Commissioner's General- Who's The Boss?
The outstation transfers of 25 Prison
Officers including Jailors, Assistant Jailors ,Prison Guards and Sargents attached to Welikada and Colombo Magazine prisons ordered to be implemented by Ministry of Justice and Prison Reforms had been suspended by the Prison Commissioner General Nishan Danasingle with effect from yesterday (22).
The Transfers had been suspended after the talks held between Prison Jailors,Guards and Sargents Union officials and Prison Commissioner General in Colombo it has been revealed. During the talks the Union officials had stated that these Transfer es cannot be justified it has been revealed.

Transport Activities Of Hatton -Colombo Main Road Restricted To One Lane-A Section Of The Road Had Sunk
A large number of cracks had appeared in the sunken area according to reports.
The sunken area had sunk minorly due to the heavy showers prevailed there recently and reconstructed by the Road Development Authority .Several years ago the place had sunk completely.
