UNP Has Appointed A Special Committee To Investigate On Vijayakala Maheswaran's LTTE Favoured Speech

Related imageA Four member committee had been appointed by the Governing United National Party(UNP) to investigate on the LTTE Favored Speech made by former State Minister of Child Affairs Vijayakala Maheswaran recently.

The Committee is comprising of UNP General Secretary Akila Viraj Kariyawasam,Ministers Thalatha Atukorale,Ranjith Maddumabandara and Kabir Hasheem.

Meanwhile Colombo Chief Magistrate Ranga Disanayake has today (06) ordered five media institutions to produce the unedited Audio tape of the Former State Minister Maheswaran's speech to the court for the investigation carrying out by the Colombo Organized Crimes Division over the speech.

"Sinhala Ravaya" organization has made a complaint to the Organized Crimes Division regarding the speech.

The former State Minister Maheswaran has resigned from her Ministerial post yesterday(05) over the opposition of many sectors in the society on her speech.

State Minister Vijayakala Maheswaran Has Decided To Resign From Her Post

Related imageThe State Minister of Child Affairs Vijayakala Maheswaran has informed the Prime Minister Ranil Wikramsinghe that she will be resigned from her Ministerial Post over a statement she has made regarding  giving a new life to the LTTE .

The Jaffna United National Party MP Maheswaran had informed on her decision to the Prime Minister during a meeting held at Temple Trees in Colombo yesterday(04).

Speaker Karu Jayasuriya had already requested the opinion of the Attorney General over the State Minister's statement on LTTE and Prime Minister has also informed the Parliament that a special  inquiry will be conducted  regarding the State Minister's behavior.

Police Crimes Division too began  an investigations over the complaints received against State Minister Maheswaran.

Meanwhile Jaffna District Secretary N.Vedanayagan has stated that an investigation will be conducted over the some state officials who had applauded during the state Minister's speech on LTTE.
