UNP Has Appointed A Special Committee To Investigate On Vijayakala Maheswaran's LTTE Favoured Speech

A Four member committee had been appointed by the Governing United National Party(UNP) to investigate on the LTTE Favored Speech made by former State Minister of Child Affairs Vijayakala Maheswaran recently.

The Committee is comprising of UNP General Secretary Akila Viraj Kariyawasam,Ministers Thalatha Atukorale,Ranjith Maddumabandara and Kabir Hasheem.

Meanwhile Colombo Chief Magistrate Ranga Disanayake has today (06) ordered five media institutions to produce the unedited Audio tape of the Former State Minister Maheswaran's speech to the court for the investigation carrying out by the Colombo Organized Crimes Division over the speech.

"Sinhala Ravaya" organization has made a complaint to the Organized Crimes Division regarding the speech.

The former State Minister Maheswaran has resigned from her Ministerial post yesterday(05) over the opposition of many sectors in the society on her speech.
