A Buddhist Monk Was Injured Due To A Wild Elephant Attack

A Buddhist Bhikku(Monk)  was  injured and hospitalized due to a Wild Elephant attack at Wewelketiya in Madawachchiya-Anuradhapura early this morning (20) it has been reported.

The Injured Bhikku was admitted to the Anuradhapura General Hospital for treatment and his condition is not serious according to the reports.He had faced this incident while on the way to the Temple after arriving Wewelketiya from Colombo.

Cabinet Aprroved A Proposal To Remove 15 Percent VAT Imposed On Private Hospital Consultation Fees

Cabinet has approved a Cabinet Proposal submitted by the Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne on removing the 15 percent Value added tax(VAT) imposed over the Medical Consultation fees,Channelling fees and Fees paid to the Medical professionals involved in Private Practice with effect from 01st of July.

According to the Minister of Finance and Media Mangala Samaraweera ,Health Minister has subnitted the proposal under the imstructions of the President and Prime Minister to remove these taxes imposed since 01st of January 2016.

Addressing a gathering held at thr Monaragala District Hospital recently Minister has stated that every Government Hospital Director was given Rs.10 million annually for the daily requirments of the Hospital and due to the software provided to every hospital there's a facility that a Hospital director can get the out of stock drug from the nearby hospital.

Therefore if there is Drug shortage in any hospital 'The director of that hospital should take the responsibility of it he has stressed.
