A Lorry Driver Was Arrested With 1800 KG Of Waste Tea
Deniyaya Police have arrested a Lorry
driver along with 1800 Kilo Grammes of waste tea while transporting it from a Tea factory in Galle to a Tea factory in Kahawatte area today(14)at aninkanda area.
The stock of waste tea taken into custody stored in around 200 bags it has been revealed.
Police are due to produce the suspected Lorry driver who is a 33 year old resident of Kahawatta area before the Morawaka Magistrate Court.

Three Persons Were Injured And Three Arrested Over A Brawl Incident Among Two Groups
Three persons have been injured and
hospitalized as a result of a brawl incident occurred between the residents of Maligawatte and a group of persons under liquor influence arrived in a Motor car at lee mola Junction in Maligawatte this morning(14).
Police have arrested three residents of Maligawatta Area and they were remanded until 28th of June after being produced before the Maligawatta Magistrate Court.
The beawl has occurred when three persons arrived in a Motor car listning to a loud music inside the Car and when a resident has requested them to reduce the volume of the songs.The three persons in the Motor car under the influence of liquor had assaulted the resident over the request.
As a result the residents of Maligawatta area have assaulted the person in the Motor Car and Police have arrested three residents over the assault.

President Has Instructed The Authorities To Keep The Two Rare Elephants In Sinharaja Further There
President Maithripala Sirisena has today(14)instructed the Secretary of the Ministey of Enviornment and and Director General of Wild Life to keep the two rare Elephants located in Sinharaja Forest reserve further there till formation of a formal mechsnism regarding them and implament it.
"Surakimu Sri Lanka" Organization (Protect Sri Lanka Organization) has recently complained that the Minister of Wild Life Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka has decided to move the two Elephants from the Sinharaja Forest Reserve to Horovpathana Elephant Center.UNESCO Has informed that the Sinharaja reserve will loose the World heritage status if the two elephants are move to another place the Organization has stated.
The Director General of Wild Life has said that a decision has been taken to move the two Elephants from Sinharaja for their safety and to avoid threats posed from them to villagers nearby.

A Wild Elephant Was Killed Due To An Electrocution
A Wild Elephant around 25-30 years old
has died due to an electrocution at a Private land in Neluwagala area
,in Wellawaya Provincial Secretariat yesterday(13) according to reports.
The
elephant has died due to an Electrocution caused by an Electric wire
attached to a Motor use to get water to a house it has been revealed.
