A Leading Heroin Smuggler Was Arrested With A Haul Of Heroin

Police have arrested a 42 year old

leading Heroin smuggler at his house in Kurundankulama ,Anuradhapura with around 7.60 grammes of Brown Sugar variety Heroin in his possession this evening(05) according to reports.

The suspect has involved in selling of the Heroin for retail price after a female distributing it to him ,he has revealed to the Police.

A Long Python Was Killed Due To Run Over By A Train In Hatton

A seven ft. long Python was killed

after running over by a Train at the Hatton Train Station while crossing the Rail Track in the wee hours of last morning(04) according to the reports.

A Python who lived in Watawala reserve and surrounded tea estates had faced this incident and this was the first time that a Python was reported as killed due to a run over by a Train the Rail workers have said.

The Python may have run over by the train which travelled from Hatton to Kandy last morning the Workers have stated.The wild life officers of Nallathanniya Wild Life office were informed over the incident by the rail workers.

A New Chairman Was Appointed To The State Timber Corporation

President Maithripala Sirisena has

today (05)appointed Anuruddha Polgampola as the new chairman of the State Timber Corporation.

President had handed over the appointment letter to the new chairman of the Timber corporation at the Presidents House according to the President's Media Division.The post of chairman of the Timber corporation became vacant after the previous chairman P.Dissanayake was removed from his post by the president following his arrest by the Bribery Commission.

A Nine Year Old Girl Was Killed Due to A Road Accident

A nine year old girl was killed after run

over by a passanger bus ,while crossing the road with her grandmother along the pedastrian crossing in Kegalle early this morning(05).

The critically injured girl had succumbed to her injuries after admitting to Kegalle Teaching Hospital for treatment it has been revealed.

The deceased had faced this incident while on the way to a tution class.The grandmother had received minor injuries due to the incident and admitted to the Kegalle hospital for treatment according to Kegalle Police.

Police have arrested the Bus driver regarding the accident and he is due to be produced before the court.
