Negambo Additional Magistrate has yesterday(15) has ordered to hear a court case filed against the Joint Opposition MP Wimal Weerawanshe over violation of Immigration and Emigration laws by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID)on 14th of June this year.
CID had arrested the MP who was former Mintier of previous government over attempting to go abroad through a misplaced Passport on 23rd of October 2016.He was later released on bail.
The Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne has today(16) issued arrest warrant again to arrest the Former Sri Lankan Ambassador to United States Of America Jaliya Wikramasuriya over misappropriation of state funds while he was the ambassador .
The arrest warrant was issued when the case filed against Former Ambassador Wikramsuriya was heard at the court.
The Magistrate has also issued warrants to arrest and produced The former Ambassador's wife and cousin sister who had signed the bail application behalf of Wikramsuriya who went abroad for medical reasons ,over not appearing before the court as scheduled.
The 30th Death Anniversary of the Popular Actor and Politician Late Vijaya Kunarathunge (1945-1988)falls today.To commemorate Late Vijaya a Musical Concert where local artists singing songs sung by him will be held at National Film Corporation Premises this evening (16).
The late actor was shot dead by an unidentified gunmen in front of his house in Polhengoda.Kirulapona on 16th of February 1988.

The Colombo Additional Magistrate Thusitha .P.Rangala had postponed the hearing of the case which scheduled for today(16) to 23rd of February it has been reported.
The Additional Magistrate has informed the complaint faction to appear before the Court on 23rd to give evidence over the case.
The case was filed against the State Minister Fowzie by the Bribery Commission over incur more than Rs.one million financial loss to the government by using a Vehicle donated to the Ministry Of Disaster Management for personal use.
President Maithripala Sirisena seeks legal advise of the Attorney General and legal experts regarding the possibility of removing Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe from the Post according to the Joint Opposition Group.
The Joint Opposition Group MP's were held discussions with President Maithripala Sirisena at his official residence in Wijerama Mawatha,Colombo this noon over the forming of a Sri Lanka Frredom Party Government.
However according to the experts under the 19th amendment introduced to the Constitution by Good Governance government after coming to power .President could not remove Prime Minister and only through a impeachment /No confidence motion passed in Parliament with two thirds majority Prime Minister can be removed from his post.The only other option available to remove Prime Minister is he him self resigning from the post .
