A 30 Year Old Person Was Sentenced To 12 Year Rigorous Imprisonment Over Sexually Assaulting A 10 Year Old Girl
Matrara High Court has sentenced a 12 year rigorous imprisonment for a 30 year old resident of Urubokke area over sexually assaulting a 10 year old girl in 2009.The Matara High Court Judge Damith Thotawatte has ordered the accused to pay Rs.150,000 as compensation to the girl who faced the incident and stated that if he is not been able to do so will face an extra 2 year jail term .
A Heavy Traffic In Some Roads In Colombo Due To A Protest Campaign

Airport Customs Officers have arrested an Indian National with around 16,930 tablets use for abortion brought to the country illegally last night(29) at the Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Airport.
The suspected Indian national was released on a fine of Rs.100,000 after been questioned on the incident and the stock of Tablets use for Abortion which worth around Rs.2.3 million have confiscated it has been reported.

A Pedestrian Was Killed After Colliding With A Motor Vehicle
A pedestrian was killed last night in Mawathagama area on Kandy -Kurunagala main road after colliding with a motor car traveling from Kurunagala to Kandy .The critically injured pedestrian had succumbed to his injuries after admission to Mawathagama Hospital.
The whereabouts of the deceased has not yet been determined.The motorist had fled away after the incident and later surrendered to the Katugasthota Police it has been reported.
