Number Of Persons Dead Due To The Meethotamulle Garbage Dump Collapse Risen To 31
The number of persons dead due to the Collapse of Meethotamulle Garbage Dump has increased to 31 after another body had been recovered from the rubble in the Disaster Site today(18).
The relief teams including tri force personal are continuing their rescue operations in search of the missing for the fifth day today.
Meanwhile the National Building Research Organization (NBRO) has declared the surrounding area of the Disaster site as a landslide risk area .More than 100 families have been removed from the area few days ago after the NBRO has revealed that the remained section of the Garbage Dump in Meethotamulle is at risk of collapse any time.

Colombo Municipal Council Received Court Permission To Dispose Colombo Based Garbage To The Karadiyana Garbage Dump
Kesbawa District Court has today(18) granted permission to the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) to dispose the Garbage collected in Colombo to Karadiyana Garbage Dump in Piliyandala area (Western Province) with effect from yesterday(17) to 28th of this month as per requested by the Municipal Council.
The court has also directed the Solid Waste Management Authority to accept the Colombo Garbage until 28th of this month.
Accordingly the Court granted permission to the CMC to dispose 350 metric tonnes of Garbage Collected in Colombo daily to the Karadiyana Garbage Dump.Police protection is also given to the Karadiyana Garbage Dump it has been revealed.
Government is considering two other unmanned alternative locations except the Karadiyana Garbage Dump to dispose around 800 metric tonnes of Garbage collected in Colombo daily it has been reported.

There's No Shortage Of The Drug"Tamiflu" Prescribed For Influenza Patients In Government Hospitals As Stated By GMOA-Director General Of Health Services
There is no shortage of the drug "Tamiflu" (Oseltamivir)prescribed for Influenza A and B flu in government hospitals at present as stated by Government Medical Officers Association(GMOA) according to the acting Director General Of Health Services Dr.Jayasundara Bandara.
Although GMOA officials had stated during a press briefing held at their office in Colombo yesterday(17) that the drug "Tamiflu" prescribed for Dengue,Viral Flu and Influenza is currently out of stock in government hospitals at present the drug only prescribed for Influenza A and B types in special instances under a recommendation of a Medical Consultant Dr.Bandara has stated.
"Tamiflu" drug already distributed as per the requests made by government hospitals and there's no such shortage of the drug as claimed by GMOA he has further stated.
"Tamiflu"drug distributing to hospitals under the inspection of Epidemiology Unit the Health Ministry has said.

Six Persons Including A School Boy Arrested Over Attacking A Police Constable
Police have arrested six persons who
Had attacked a Police Constable with a sharp
object and injured him during a concert held in
Bandaragama area
Last night (16).
The injured Police Constable attached to the Bandaragama Police Station has been admitted to the Horana Base Hospital for treatment.
A school boy sat for the G.C.E O/Level examination last December is among the suspects arrested over the attack according to the Police.
