Thirty Vehicle Spare Parts Selling Outlets In Maradana To Face A Legal Action Over Selling Counterfeit Spare Parts

During a raid carried out by the officers of the  Consumer Affairs Authority in vehicle spare parts selling outlets at  Panchikawatte area in Maradana(Colombo)  today(17),the officers had managed to identify  30 Vehicle spare parts selling outlets selling counterfeit spare parts to the consumers  under the original brand names of Japanese and German spare parts it has been reported. 

The Authority is due to take a legal action against the  owners of the Thirty outlets which raided today(17).
 
The counterfeited vehicle spare parts which sold  by the raided spare parts selling outlets are reported as made in China.

 

A Person Was Killed After Colliding With A Train

A person was killed after colliding with a moving train between Colombo Fort and Slave Island train stations last night(16).

The person had been collided with a train traveling from Mount Lavinia to Maradana according to the Police.

Heavy Traffic Reported In Galle Town Yesterday After A Motor Cycle Caught Fire

A heavy traffic had been reported from Galle town

near the Galle District Secretariat Office (Southern Province) yesterday (16) due to a Motor Cycle participated a parade held to support a school cricket tournment in the town, suddenly caught fire.

Although fire brigade attached to Galle Urban Council arrived at the scene to douse the fire ,the Motor Cycle was completely destroyed due to the fire it has been reported.Two riders of the Motor Cycle had managed to escape unharmed after it caught fire sources revealed.

Around Twenty One Houses Destroyed Due To The Strong Winds In Nuwara Eliya

Around Twenty one houses in kerned estate at nanu

oya,Nuwara Eliya had been destroyed due to the strong winds experirnced in the area yesterday (16) accirding to the Disaster Management  Center in Nuwara Eliya.

More than 100 persons had been evacuated from the area due to the situation and they are provided with temporary shelter the Center has stated.

Former President Mahinda Rajapakshe Was Not Able To Appear Before The Presidential Commission

Former president Mahinda Rajapakshe was unable to

appear  before  the Presidential Commission investigating into the serious acts of fraud and corruption(PRECIFAC) today (17) his lawyers have informed the Commission.

The commission has requested the former president to appear before the commission to record a statement regarding financial loss experienced by the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation as a result of the telecasing of former president's ads during the presidential campaign.

The former president requested another date to record a satement before the commission.
