Bribery Commission Officials Have Arrested A Deputy Principal And Two Teachers For Accepting A Bribe

Bribery Commission officials have today (23)arrested

a female deputy Principal and two  teachers attached to a school in Akurana,Kandy for accepting Rs.7500 as a bribe to admit a child to grade five in the school.

The deputy principal and two teachers were arrested after the parents of the children  informed the incident to Bribery Commission.

The suspects have taken Rs.7500 each from parents to admit every student of the grade five class it has been revealed.

Police Have Shot And Wounded A Thief At Kaduwela

Police have shot and wounded a thief who attempted

to flee after stealing valuables and cash from a Telecommunication Center in weliwita,Kaduwela (Colombo) today (23).

The injured suspect was admitted to the Mulleriyawa Hospital under police protection for treatment.

The suspect along with two others broken into  a telecommunication center and stolen  Mobile Phones,Golf jewelry and cash.

Police officers shot the suspect after he tried to attack them thtough a sharp object.

One Person Was Killed And Three Others Injured Due To A Motor Car-Lorry Collision

A person was killed and three others injured and hospitalized today(23)due to a motor car-lorry collision occurred at Kokkavil area on Chilaw-Kurunagala main road .

The four  injured persons including the driver of the Motor Car were admitted to the Chilaw Hospital for treatment and the Driver of the Car was succumbed to his injuries afterwards.

The Lorry driver was arrested by the Police regarding the accident.Chilaw Police are conducting an investigation on the incident.

SLTB Bus-Container Truck Collision Occurred After The Truck Driver Fallen A Sleep

The Sri Lanka Transport Board(SLTB) Bus-Container Truck collision occurred this morning on Colombo-Kandy main road which killed two persons and injuring more than 30 passengers ,after the driver of the Container Truck fallen  a sleep it has been revealed .

 During the Vehicle collision a Car and a Three Wheeler behind the SLTB Bus and the Container Truck also crashed into the wreckage it has been revealed.
 
The Container Truck driver who fallen a  sleep and a 60 year of female passenger in the Bus were killed due to the accident on admission to the the hospital.

Thirteen females including a Buddhist Nun are among the injured who were admitted to the Wathupitiwala Hospital after the accident.

The vehicle collision which occurred at Bataleeya near Pasyala Junction on Colombo-Kandy main road had caused a severe traffic congestion this morning which lasted several hours it has been reported.

Three Students Were Drowned While Bathing In Muttur Seas

In another tragic incident three teenagers who sat for the G.C.E Ordinary Level Examination in last December, have drowned in seas off Muttur in Trincomalee (Eastern Province)early this morning while bathing .

The deceased teenagers who were residents of Thihariya in Nittambuwa area had gone to sea bath along with another friend after attending a religious ceremony in Muttur ,and three of them were drowned while bathing it has been revealed.

Soon after they were drowned Police along with the fishermen in the area have launched a searched operation and later they have found the bodies of the deceased.The bodies of the deceased teenagers were sent to Muttur Hospital.
