Gampaha Magistrate Has Issued A Verdict On Rathupaswala Incident By Stating It Is A Crime

Gampaha Magistrate Court has today(14) given a verdict that the Assaulting and killing of three youths during a protest campaign held  in  Rathupaswala Area at Weliweriya (In western province) in the year  2013 is a crime.

The Gampaha Chief Magistrate Kavindya Nanayakkara has issued this verdict when the Rathupaswala Case was taken up for hearing at Gampaha Magistrate Court this morning.

Out of the  three youth who were killed during the protest campaign held at Rathupaswala regarding a drinking water issue  two were killed due to a gun wounds and other was killed after being attacked by an object the Magistrate has stated.

A Retired High Rank Army Officer Committed Suicide After Accepting The Responsibility Of Lasantha Wikramathunge's Murder

A high rank retired Army Officer has today (14)committed suicide at his house in Kegalle District after writing a letter stating he is accepting the responsibility of killing former Editor of" Sunday Leader"Newspaper Lasantha Wikramathunge.

The 52 year old former Army Officer has requested from his letter to release the Army Intelligence Officer who is in remand regarding the killing of former Sunday Leader Editor and hand over his letter to the Army Intelligence Unit according to the Kegalle Police.

The post mortem of the deceased was conducted at the Kegalle Teaching Hospital.

A Special Note-It is important not to mention the way a suicide victim has  committed suicide in a news story  as somewhere another person will adapt the same method when committing suicide. History has proved  it.


Navy Personal Found A Haul Of Kerala Cannabis left Inside Of A Boat At South Of Point Pedro

Navy Personal have yesterday (13)found  around 17 kilo grammes of Kerala Cannabis left  inside  a  Fibre Glass Dinghy (,Boat) at seas off South of Point Pedro(In Northern Province).

The haul of Kerala Cannabis and the Dinghy were handed over to the Point Of Pedro Police for future course of action.

Eight Students In Kandy Schools Handed Over To Rehabilitation Over Keeping Cannabis In Their Possession

Teldeniya Magistrate Court has today (14)handed over eight students attached to three leading schools in Kandy to Child Care Service for rehabilitation after they were produced before the Magistrate Court  on charges of keeping  Cannabis in their possession.

The students were earlier  arrested by the Police at Oruthota in Teldeniya Area with School Uniforms while keeping Cannabis in their possession.

The Teldeniya Magistrate Court has  also granted personal  bail for the eight students with Rs.25,000 each.

Pugoda Magistrate Has Ordered To Auction The Property In Malwana Which Former Minister Basil Rajapakshe Denied Ownership

Pugoda Magistrate has today(14)ordered to auction the controversial 16 acre House and Land in Malwana area (In Western Province) after it's registered owner and Former Economic Development Minister who is charged as owned it had denied the ownership of the property.

When the case on the Property has taken up for hearing today the Pugoda Magistrate has ordered to auction the House and Land located in Gangabada Road at Malwana,Pugoda and handed over the money to Pugoda Magistrate Court.

The former Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapakshe has last friday (07) informed the court through his Attorney that the said propery isvnot owned by him as charged.

The court case has been postponed until 10th of January 2017 by the Pugoda Magistrate .

A Fire Erupted At A Compost Fertilizer Manufactiring Plant

A sudden fire had erupted at a Compost  Fertilizer Manufacturing
Plant in Kolonnawa Municipal Council Area last night it has been reported.

The fire brigade attached to the Kolonnawa Municipal Council has doused the fire.

The cause of the fire has not yet been revealed.Wellampitiya Police are conducting an investigation on the incident.
