Inflammable Liquid May Be The Cause For The Fire At Eppawela Phosphate Factory-Government Analyst's Department

The report issued by the Government Analyst's Department on the fire erupted at state owned  Eppawela Phosphate Factory on 21st of July has stated that the natural causes will not cause the fire at the factory and using of inflammable liquid may be the cause behind it.

The fire that erupted at the factory had destroyed the section of the building which the accounting,supply and documenting divisions located.

However after the fire had erupted the chairman of the Eppawala Phosphate Factory has dismissed the allegations that a conspiracy is behind the fire.

A Body Of An Unidentified Male Has Been Recovered Near Nuwara Tank

The Anuradhapura Police have today (09) recovered a body of an unidentified male near the Nuwara Tank in Anuradhapura(North Central Province) .

The body of the deceased has been sent to the Anuradhapura  General Hospital for  a autopsy the police have stated.Anuradhapura Police are investigating on the incident.

Two Sri Lankan Girls Had Drowned In Oman While Trying To Take A Selfie

Two Sri Lankan girls who were studying in an Indian School in Oman had drowned last evening in the coast off Ain Garziz in Oman while trying to take a selfie while walking along a spring there it has been reported.

According to the foreign media reports when one girl trying to take a selfie while on the spring she slipped .The slipped girl trying to save herself by holding the hand of other girl and afterwards they were both fell to the deep sea water.

The incident occured while the families of the two girls went on a picnic it has been revealed.

After a long struggle both girls were rescued and taken to the Sulthan Qaboos Hospital in Oman where the doctors pronounced both were dead the reports have stated.


Navy Have Arrested 14 Local Fishermen While Engaging In Illegal Fishing

Sri Lanka Navy have arrested 14 local fishermen who were engaged in illegal fishing by using banned fishing nets  in Eastern Seas .

Along with the fishermen Navy had taken into custody two banned nets,two diving fins and two dinghi boats the sources have stated.

The arrested fishermen along with fishing equipment were handed over to the fisheries officials in Trincomalee for future course if action.

A Sudden Fire Erupted In Beragala Mountain Had Destroyed Several Acres Of Land

A sudden fire has been erupted in top of the Beragala Mountain at Haputhale Area (In the Up Country ) today (09) according to the Haputhale Police.


A several acres of land belonging to  the Beragala Mountain had been reported as destroyed due to the fire and fire fighters are not able to reach the area to douse fire as the fire is spreading in top of the mountain it has been reported.
