Imprisoned UPFA MP Mahindanada Aluthgamage Has Been Further Remanded Over Money Laundering Charges

The imprisoned United Peoples Freedom Alliance(UPFA) MP Mahindananda Aluthgamage who was arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department(CID) over money laundering charges has been further remanded until 27th of September by the Colombo Magistrate Court today(22).

The MP was further remanded after been produced before the Colombo Magistrate Court today.

The CID has arrested MP Aluthgamage on 15th of September After recorded a statement from  him over the allegations leveled against him.The CID has informed the court that through unlawful earnings MP Aluthgamage has purchased a luxury house from Kynsey Road in Colombo  by spending Rs.27 million during the previous regime when he was the Sports Minister.

Main Accused Of The Murder Of Bharatha Lakshman ,Former MP Duminda Silva Filed An Appeal Against Death Sentence

The main accused of the murder case of former MP and Presidential Adviser Bharatha Lakashman Premachandre and three of his associates, former  MP Duminda Silva who was sentenced to death has today(22) filed an appeal at the Supreme Court requesting to lift his sentence and release.

A Lawyer of former MP Duminda Silva  has filed the appeal on behalf of him at the Registrar Office in Colombo High Court this evening.

Last Tuesday(20) three of the other accused who were sentenced to death over the shooting and murder of former UPFA MP and Presidential Adviser Bharatha Laksman Premachandre and three others , Chaminda Ravi Jayanath,Anura Thushara De Mel and D.M Sarath Bandara had been filed appeals against their sentences.

Thirty Sri Lankans Who Were Deported From Japan Arrived In Katunayake Air Port

Thirty Sri Lankans who  were deported to Sri Lanka by the Japanese Authorities while illegally staying in Japan had arrived in Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Air Port this evening according to the sources.

A group of sixty seven Japanese security personal have escorted the Sri Lankan Group to Sri Lanka the source have stated.Among the deportees there are Twenty Seven males and Three Females .

  Tetanus booster is available in combination with diphtheria (Td vaccine) or diphtheria and pertussis (Tdap vaccine).
• Adults should get Tdap once and then Td every 10 years after.
• Pregnant women especially should get the Tdap vaccine because of the protection it provides against whooping cough.

From Next Year Passing G.C.E Ordinary Level Exam Is Not Compulsory To Study Advanced Level -Education Minister1

Students who are not able to pass the G.C.E Ordinary Level Examination too will be able to study G.C.E Advanced Level Examination from the year 2018 the Minister Of Education Akila Viraj Kariyawasam has stated today(21).

Accordingly from next year (2017)passing the G.C.E Ordinary Level Examination especially the subject Mathamatics is not compulsory for students to qualify for Advanced Level the Minister has stressed.
