The imprisoned United Peoples Freedom Alliance(UPFA) MP Mahindananda Aluthgamage who was arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department(CID) over money laundering charges has been further remanded until 27th of September by the Colombo Magistrate Court today(22).The MP was further remanded after been produced before the Colombo Magistrate Court today.
The CID has arrested MP Aluthgamage on 15th of September After recorded a statement from him over the allegations leveled against him.The CID has informed the court that through unlawful earnings MP Aluthgamage has purchased a luxury house from Kynsey Road in Colombo by spending Rs.27 million during the previous regime when he was the Sports Minister.
