Former Senior DIG And Narahenpita Crimes OIC Further Remnded Over Rugby Player's Murder

Image result for anura senanayake and sumith pereraThe former Senior Deputy Inspector General Of Police(DIG) Anura Senananyake and former Crimes OIC of Narahenpita Police Sumith Perera who were arrested and remanded over the murder of former Sri Lankan Rugby Player Wasim Thajudeen have been further remanded today(07) until 21st of September by the Colombo Magistrate Court.

The suspects are being produced before the Colombo Magistrate today.

When the case was taken up today for hearing the State Attorney has stated that the report on CCTV Footage sent to Canada for examine the murder of Thajudeen has been received and according to it the footage is  not clear.

The State Attorney has also informed the court that the phone calls made to and from the President's House on the day of the murder are also being investigated.

Heavy Traffic Caused A Closure Of Lotus Road In Colombo- Fort This Noon

Image result for lotus road colomboThe Lotus Road in Colombo-Fort Area has been closed this noon due to a heavy traffic congestion prevailed in the area at that time as a result of a Protest March organized by the Public Services Technical Officers it has been reported.

Police had advised the motorists to use an alternative routes due to the situation.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Singh Modi To Visit Sri Lanka Next May To Inaugurate Newly Developed Hatton-Dikoya Base Hospital

Image result for hospital clipartThe Hatton-Dikoya Base Hospital which is due to be developed by the courtesy of Indian Government will be inaugurated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Singh Modi on May Next year(2017) the day after Vesak Full Moon Poya Day the Indian Health Minister J.P Nadda has informed the Sri Lanka's  Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne yesterday(06).

According to the Indian Health Minister J.P Nadda,The Indian Prime Minister is due to visit Sri Lanka next May to participate the inauguration ceremony of the Hatton-Dikoya Hospital.Indian Health Minister has revealed this after he along with an Indian Delegation including Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka V.K Sinha met with Sri Lanka's Health Minister during the on going WHO's South East Asia Regional Health Ministers Summit at the Galle Face Hotel.

During the discussions held with Sri Lanka's Health Minister, Indian Health Minister has requested the Sri Lankan government's assistance to develop human resources in Hatton-Dikoya Hospital which the Dr.Senaratne agreed.

Cabinet Approved A Proposal To Control The Import And Use Of Asbestos And To Prohibit The Asbestos Related Products

The Cabinet has approved a proposal made by President Maithripala Sirisena when he was the Minister of Mahaweli Development and Environment to control the import and use of Asbestos from 01st of January 2018 and to prepare an active programme to prohibit the Asbestos related products from 01st of January 2024.

Asbestos  which identified by the World Health Organization(WHO)as contained the substance "Carcinogen" which causes Cancer is used for many products like roofing sheet products,cement pipes,floor tiles,papers,break pads of vehicles and ropes and around 80% of the Asbestos imported to Sri Lanka are being used for roof sheet production it has been revealed.

Although WHO identified that  all kind of Asbestos  including white and blue Asbestos are  containing the Cancer agent "Carcinogen",Sri Lanka has prohibited the importing of Blue Asbestos to the country since 1987.
