Visiting Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg Met President Maithripala Sirisena

The Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg who arrived in Sri Lanka on 04th of August  for a private tour had met President Maithripala Sirisena today (12) and held bi lateral  talks at the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo.

During the talks both leaders have agreed to increase corporation in several sectors between the two countries  including information technology ,energy,hydro and solar power and fisheries

President Sirisena had welcomed the Norwegian Prime Minister during a reception held before the talks.

Visiting Norwegian premier is also due to hold talks with Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe and Opposition Leader R.Sambandhan.

Supreme Court Has Dismissed A Petition Filed Against Duty Free Vehicle Permits Issued To MP's

Image result for supreme court sri lankaThe Supreme Court has today (12) dismissed a petition filed by a lawyer requesting to suspend the Duty Free Vehicle Permit Scheme implemented for Parliamentarians, without proceeding it.

Attorney At Law Nagananda Kodithuwakku has filed the petition by stating issuing of duty free vehicle permits to parliamentarians is against the law and a waste of a large amount of public funds.

However by stating that there were so many shortcomings in the petition the supreme court has dismissed it without proceeding.

Three Metric Tonnes Of Fish Stored In A Cold Storage Of Fisheries Corporation For Around Eight Years Have Been Recovered

Image result for fish to eatThe officials of the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources have detected  three metric tonnes of fish imported from a foreign country and stored in a cold storage belonging to Ceylon Fisheries Corporation for around eight years.

The Minister of fisheries and aquatic resources Mahinda Amaraweera has instructed the additional secretary of the Ministry S.Balasubramanium who is also the acting director of fisheries corporation to probe on the fish stock and find the individuals who are responsible for not issuing the fish stock to the market.

Prime Minister To Leave China Tomorrow(13) For An Official Visit

During the visit Prime Minister Wikramasinghe is due to visit Container Terminals,Industrial Zones,Financial Centers and other important locations in south west China.He will be accompanied by Ministers Champika Ranawake and Anura Priyadarshana Yapa and several state officials the government has stated.

Katunayake Airport Authorities Have Deported A Couple And Their Child Who Arrived From Dubai

Image result for deportedThe Katunayake Airport Authorities have today(12) deported a couple and their child who arrived in Sri Lanka from Dubai  with fake passports by suspecting they might  belonging to the ISIS Terrorist Group .

The authorities have found a German Passport in possession of the Husband of the deported Muslim family and two fake UAE (United Arab Emirates) passports in  possession of mother and the child it has been reported.Authorities have also recovered two Lebanese refugee passports inside the luggage of the family.

The suspected family is  due to leave Germany on 14th(Sunday) according to their flight details.

The family  who arrived in Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Airport early this morning from  Air Arabia flight had been deported from the country as per the instructions of Controller General of  Immigration and Emigration according to the Airport Authorities.

Airport authorities have also informed the local Intelligence Officials on the family as they have received information to stay on alert regarding the ISIS terrorist group members or their supporters enter the country.
