Detained Former Minister Basil Rajapakshe Has Been Further Remanded

The former Minister Basil Rajapaskhe who was detained and remanded over misappropriation of state funds to distribute supplying materials to District Councils has been further remanded until 08th of August by the Kaduwela Magistrate Court this morning .

He was further remanded after being produced before the Magistrate Court this morning.

The former Minister Of Economic Development has been  detained by the Police Financial Crimes Investigations Department (FCID) on 18th of July after recorded a statement from him regarding the allegation and later remanded him  until 01st of August.

A day after got  remanded he has been transferred to the Merchants Ward in Colombo National Hospital with the approval of a Prison Hospital doctor as he complained on a chest pain.

One Afghan Youth Has Died And Three Other Afghan Nationals Were Drowned And Rescued While Bathing At Sea In Thalpe

A sixteen year old Afghan youth was drowned and three other Afghan Nationals were drowned and rescued while bathing at the sea in Thalpe,Habaraduwa (Southern Province)yesterday (30) according to the police.

All four Afghan Nationals who were drowned in the sea  were rescued and admitted to the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital it has been reported.The sixteen year old youth has died after being  admitted to the Hospital.
