Lymphatic Filariasis forcing those people have it to lead a life of stigma,discrimination and poverty WHO has stated.
"The achievement made by Sri Lanka and Maldives demonstrates the resolve of those countries and the region as a whole to eliminate all neglected tropical diseases ,which have no reason to continue and effect the lives of people" the Regional Director Of WHO's South East Asia Region Dr.Poonam Khretrapal has stressed.
Ten Health Institutions Directly Affected Due To Floods-WHO Sri Lankan Office
Around fifteen public health midwives divisions in the island too affected due to floods and the clinical registers and records belonging to them destroyed and need to be replaced WHO has stated.
The Ministry Of Health has provided this information to WHO.
One Killed And Two Others Injured Due To A Car-Three Wheeler Collision At Kuruwita
Three Persons who were inside the three wheeler when the car crashed into it have been admitted to Ratnapura Hospital with injuries while one was succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
The Car has crashed into the three wheeler when the three wheeler was parked at a parking space in Kuruwita and the driver of the car has fled away from the scene soon after the accident it has been reported.
Kuruwita Police are conducting an investigation on the accident.
Three Suspects Have Been Arrested Over A Counterfeit Currancy Notes Racket
According to the information received by special task force personal they have detained three persons ,two in a place near a Buddhist Temple in warana and the mastermind behind the racket at weeragula area with 50 counterfeit currency notes of Rs.1000 and a laptop and other equipment used to print currency notes.
The suspects were handed over to the Weeragula Police for future course of action.
