The leftist Janatha Wimukthi Peramuna(JVP) has today(03)staged a demonstration in front of Colombo Fort Railway Station against the recent VAT(Value Added Tax) hike implemented by the government which caused a price hike of several commodities and vehicles.The demonstration was held under the patronage of JVP Leader MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake and several other JVP members .The JVP has stated that the increasing of VAT by 4% from 11% to 15% is a burden for public.
