WHO has decided to grant more funds to Sri Lanka as the country is having a better healthcare system at present the Ministry has stated.
Health Minister To Stop GMOA On Taking Decsions When Preparing Intern Appointment Lists Of Doctors
The Ministry Of Health has already identified the stations which doctors needed most and will give priority to appoint new doctors to the government hospitals and institutions which have severe shortage of doctors at present the Health Minister has stressed."GMOA " always requesting more new doctors for Colombo based hospitals and major hospitals in the island which have more then the required number of doctors .The Ministry have the list of stations where there's doctors shortages are and will give new appointments based on that list: in future" Minister Senaratne has stressed.
GMOA has announced an island wide strike action on next Tuesday(31) opposing the Health Ministry's decision to make changes in post intern appointment list-2016 of government doctors.
However Health Minister has stated that it is not necessary to launch a doctors strike at the time that thousands of people in the country have displaced due to natural disasters.
Colombo Chief Magistrate Ordered CID To Speedup Investigation On Diplomatic Passport Case Against Shashi Weerawansha
The order was issued when the case filed against Shashi Weerawansha was taken up for hearing today(27).
The case was postponed until 28th of September and chief magistrate has ordered CID to submit a report on the progress of the investigation on that date.
Death Toll Due To Floods And Landslides Has Risen To 104-99 Still Reported As Missing- DMC
Another 31 have injured due to the floods and landslides which hit Sri Lanka last week as a result of heavy showers the DMC have stated.
Around 21,484 persons displaced due to the floods and landslides still staying at displaced camps although the flood waters drained it has been reported.
As a result of the adverse weather conditions occurred in the island 623 houses have been completely destroyed and another 4414 houses were partially destroyed the DMC has stressed.
