Ministry Of Agriculture Introduced A Hotline To Inform On Damages Occurred Due To Adverse Weather
The Ministry Of Agriculture has today (26) introduced a 24 hour hotline to public to inform the Ministry on damages occurred to crops,reservoirs,canals,dams and bunds due to the prevailing adverse weather conditions .
Accordingly public can inform on such damages to the Ministry by dialing 1918.The information received will be passed to relevant authorities to provide necessary relief as soon as possible the Agriculture Ministry has stated.

Colombo High Court Suspended The Colombo Chief Magistrate's Decision Of Releasing 15 Elephants To Thier Owners
The Colombo High Court has today(26) issued an injunction order suspending the Colombo Chief Magistrate's decision to release 15 elephants to their owners on temporary basis on special bonds.
The Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya has last Friday(20) issued an order to government authorities to release 15 elephants taken in to custody from their owners due to keeping them without a valid permit back to the owners until the Kandy Esala Procession(Perahera) and several other processions ended.
The 15 elephants in custody are due to release to their owners subject to Rs.30 million special bonds until 31st of August.
However the Attorney General has filed a revision application at the Colombo High Court by challenging the Chief Magistrate's order.After considering the revision application Colombo High Court has today issued an injunction order by preventing the implementation of Colombo Chief Magistrate's order until 06th of June.

A Stock Of Surgical And Medicinal Drugs At Kotikawatte Sub Drug Store Destroyed Due To Floods
A part of the Rs.450 million worth stock of surgical items and medicinal drugs stored at sub drug store in Kotikawatte(In Colombo)Area which attached to Medical Supplies Division(MSD) of the Ministry Of Health has been destroyed due to the recent floods according to the Ministry.
The exact value of the stock of surgical items and medicinal drugs that destroyed at the Kotikawatte sub drug store is not yet estimated Ministry has stated.
The officers of stock survey board along with a team of officers including an insurance agent are currently engaged in a survey to find out the value of destroyed drug items at kotikawatte sub drug store and after the survey concludes the stock of destroyed drugs will be dumped Health Ministry sources stressed.
The authorities have taken steps to transfer remained stock of surgical items and drugs in good quality at kotikawatte sub drug store to other drug stores it has been revealed.However this stock will only be used after subjecting it to a quality test sources added.

Detained Former Senior DIG Anura Senanayake Was Further Remanded Until 09th Of June
The former senior deputy inspector general of police (DIG)anura senanayake who was arrested for hiding evidences of the former sri lankan rugby player wasim thajudeen's murder was today (26)further remanded until 09th of June by the Colombo additional magistrate.
The former DIG was remanded after been produced before Colombo additional magistrate nishantha pieris this morning.
Former DIG senanayake was arrested by Criminal Investigations Department(CID) last Monday after recorded a statement from him regarding the murder of former rugby player thajudeen.
