Around 300 To 400 People Are Feared To Be Dead Due To Landslide Occurred In Aranayake Area-Sri Lanka Red Cross Society
Around 300 to 400 people are feared to be dead due to the landslide occurred yesterday(17) in Aranayake Area in Central Province although the death toll earlier reported is less then that number according to Sri Lanka Red cross Society.
Around 150 persons have been rescued from the landslide site at Aranayake Area the Red Cross Society has stated.
All together rescue workers have recovered 19 bodies from the landslide sites in Central Province while 350 people were rescues it has been reported.

Wilpattu National Wild Park Closed Due To Adverse Weather Conditions
Due the adverse weather condition prevailing in the island the Wilpattu National Wild Park will be closed until 25th of May the director of Wild Life has announced today(18).

An Emergency Power Cuts Were Imposed In Several Areas Of Colombo Due To Floods
The Lanka Electricity Company Private Limited has imposed an emergency power cuts in several areas of Colombo this evening as a precautionary measure due to the rising water level in Kelani River and flash floods in specific areas.

Met Department Instructed Fishermen To Be On Alert On Rough Seas
The Meteorology Department has today(17) instructed the fishermen to be on alert on rough seas as sea areas off the coast may be rough at times with strong winds up to 70 kilo meters per hour.
The met department has also stated that showers or thunder showers will occur in most parts of the country including galle and matara districts.
