Around 148 Alms Giving Centers(Dansal) Registered At Colombo Public Health Department
Under the Programme of registering the Alms Giving Centers (Dansal) due to organize in Colombo City to mark Wesak Festival later this month ,around 148 Alms Giving Centers had registered up to today(12) at Colombo Public Health Department according to Chief Medical Officer of Colombo Dr.Ruwan Wijemuni.
Out of the 148 Alms Giving Centers registered at the Colombo Public Health Department up to now 80 centers are due to serve Ice Cream to the people during wesak.
All the organizers of registered Alms Giving Centers were issued a permission card according to Dr.Wijemuni.

Sixteen Persons Injured And Hospitalized Due To A Bus-Container Truck Collision
Sixteen Persons were injured and hospitalized this morning due to a Bus-Container Truck collision occurred at Kawuduwawa in Rakwana(In Rathnapura District) Area on wee hours in the morning today(12).
The injured including the driver of Container Truck were admitted to Kahawatte and Ratnapura Hospitals for treatment.
Rakwana Police are conducting an investigation on the incident..

Court Refused To Grant Bail To Former Crimes OIC -Narahenpita Who Had Detained Over The Murder Of Former Rugby Player
The Colombo Additional Magistrate Nishantha Pieris has today(12) refused granting bail to former Crimes OIC of Narahenpita Police Sumith Perera who had detained over the murder of former Sri Lankan Rugby Player Wasim Thajudeen.
The Colombo Additional Magistrate has refused to accept the bail application filed behalf of detained former Crimes OIC of Narahenpita Police after Government Lawyer has explained that if the former Crimes OIC granted bail it may have pressurized the witnesses of the Thajudeen's Murder Case as currently investigations are underway on several higher rank police officers believed to be linked to the murder.
After considering the proposed facts the Colombo Additional Magistrate has refused granting bail to the former Crimes OIC Of Narahenpita Police Sumith Perera and ordered to remand him further until 26th of May.

Government Will Not Allow Anyone To Commemorate LTTE-State Minister Of Defense
The State Minister Of Defense Ruwan Wijewardene has stated today(12) that the Government will not allow anyone to commemorate the terrorist organization LTTE but will not oppose commemorating Sri Lanka's war victims.
"Although the government will not opposing the commemoration of those who died during the war in North and East it will not allow to hoisting LTTE Flags or commemoration of LTTE as it's an internationally banned terrorist organization" the state minister of defense has stressed.
The government had already informed the Police and Armed Forces on this he has further stated.
