A Trade Union Has Lodged A Complaint At Human Rights Commission Of Sri Lanka Against The Decision To Cancel All Holidays Of Sri Lanka Transport Board Workers

Image result for human rights commission of sri lanka A Trade Union ,Ceylon Workers Unions Central Board has lodged a complaint at  Human Rights Commission Of Sri Lanka yesterday (29) against the Sri Lanka Transport Board Management's  decision to cancel all holidays of Drivers,Conductors and Technicians attached to Sri Lanka Transport Board( Langama) in view of providing transport facilities to participants of May Day Rallies.

The Management of the Sri Lanka Transport Board has decided to cancel all holidays for the above mentioned workers of Sri Lanka Transport Board from 28th of April to 03rd of May due to the  large number of applications received by requesting Sri Lanka Transport Buses for May Day Rallies it has been reported.

However through the complaint made to the Human Rights Commission, the Ceylon Workers Unions Central Board has urged  as the May Day is a day of workers the Sri Lanka Transport Board's decision to cancel holidays of it's workers is an act of preventing the workers from participating May Day Rallies and Management should have suspended this decision.

Four Police Officers Have Interdicted Over A Brawl Incident At A Restaurant Bar In Dambulla

Sri Lanka Police have yesterday(29) interdicted four Police Officers including a Sub Inspector attached to Dambulla Police Station regarding a brawl incident occurred at a Restaurant Bar in Dambulla (In Central Province)on Wednesday(27) .

Accordingly A Sub Inspector,Two Sergeants and a Constable were interdicted based on a complaint received on their alleged involvement to the Brawl the Police Spokesman's Department has stated.

The Brawl has occurred at a Restaurant Bar in Dambulla on Wednesday due to an argument erupted between  four police officers who went their dressed with civil attire and staff of the Bar when the officers requested liquor the department has revealed.

During the argument one police officer has pulled out a fire arm and threatened a staff member of the Bar it has been reported.



All Schools In North Central Province Except National Schools To Be Closed At 12 Noon Until Further Notice

Due to the hot weather condition prevailing in North Central Province these days there's a shortage of drinking water problem too  in the province according to the Chief Minister of North Central Province Pashala Jayaratne.

Colombo Additional Magistrate Has Issued An Interim Court Order By Preventing Joint Opposition Leaders From Entering Shalika Grounds-Narahenpita

Image result for court order logoThe Colombo Additional Magistrate Nishantha Pieris has today (29) issued an interim court order preventing the leaders of Joint Opposition Group( A Group of MP's supporting former president Mahinda Rajapakshe in the Parliament) and Sri Lanka Transport Board(SLTB) from entering Shalika Grounds in Narahenpita(Colombo) for 14 days with effect from today(29).

The May Day Rally of the Joint Opposition Group is scheduled to be commenced at Shalika Grounds and at Kirulapona Grounds on 01st Of May(Sunday).

The Colombo Additional Magistrate has issued the court order according to the request made by Narahenpita Police by stating that there's a threat of breaking peace due to the unauthorized May Day Rally due to be commenced by Joint Opposition Group at Shalika Grounds, Narahenpita.
