A Trade Union ,Ceylon Workers Unions Central Board has lodged a complaint at Human Rights Commission Of Sri Lanka yesterday (29) against the Sri Lanka Transport Board Management's decision to cancel all holidays of Drivers,Conductors and Technicians attached to Sri Lanka Transport Board( Langama) in view of providing transport facilities to participants of May Day Rallies.The Management of the Sri Lanka Transport Board has decided to cancel all holidays for the above mentioned workers of Sri Lanka Transport Board from 28th of April to 03rd of May due to the large number of applications received by requesting Sri Lanka Transport Buses for May Day Rallies it has been reported.
However through the complaint made to the Human Rights Commission, the Ceylon Workers Unions Central Board has urged as the May Day is a day of workers the Sri Lanka Transport Board's decision to cancel holidays of it's workers is an act of preventing the workers from participating May Day Rallies and Management should have suspended this decision.
