Ministry Of Health Appealed The Public To Refrain From Carrying Sweet Meets When Visiting Relatives During Festive Season

The Ministry Of Health ,Nutrition And Indigenous Medicine has appealed the public to carry  fresh fruits and vegetables while  refrain from carrying  Sweet Meets including,Cakes and Biscuits   when visiting relatives during the forthcoming Sinhala and Hindu New Year Festive Season  in view of reducing the increasing  number of Diabetic Patients in the country.

Due to the consuming of Sweet Meets prepared    during the festive season diabetic patients are increasing annually during the festival time the Ministry has announced.

Police Headquarters To Launch A Special Programme To Arrest Drunken Drivers During Forthcoming Festive Season

The Police Headquarters has decided to launch a special programme to arrest drunken drivers during the forthcoming Sinhala And Hindu New Year Festival Season.

Accordingly the Police Headquarters has decided to increase the raids on  arresting drunken drivers from 10th of April to 20th of April in view of reducing the road accidents occur due to drunken drivers during the festive season it has been revealed.

Ministry Of Health Has Fixed Fair Prices For 33 Laboratory Tests Performs In Private Hospitals

The Ministry Of Health,Nutrition And Indigenous Medicine has taken steps to fixed fair prices for 33 Laboratory Tests including Blood Tests performs at the Private Hospitals in Sri Lanka the Ministry has stated.

The Ministry is currently examining the ways of fixing fair prices for several other Laboratory Tests and CT/X Ray Tests performs at Private Hospitals it has been revealed.

The Health Ministry has intervened  to fix fair prices for Laboratory Tests conducted at  Private Hospitals mainly due to the  public complaints received by stating  these hospitals are  charging higher prices  from Patients for these tests.

Sri Lanka's Tourist Arrivals Have Risen By 22.8% From March 2015 To March 2016 Period

Sri Lanka's Tourists Arrivals have risen by 22.8% from  192,841 Tourists withing the one year period March 2015 to March 2016 according to Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau.

The Tourist Arrivals have risen in that period mainly due to the increase in Chinese and Indian Tourist Arrivals to Sri Lanka the Bureau has stated.

The number of Chinese Tourist Arrivals reported in this March had shown an increase of  40% when compared to the arrivals of March last year  and Indian Tourist Arrivals had shown an increase of 38.2% on this March compared to March last year it has been revealed.

The Tourist Arrivals from Western Europe and Britain too had been increased by 22.6%(69,972) and 32%(44,813) respectively  on this March when compared to March last year Tourism Promotion Bureau has indicated.
