Eighteen Acres Belonging To Morawaka ,Halagawa And Hemmathagama ,Pahanthimbugala Sanctuaries Had Destroyed Due To Sudden Fires
Fifteen Acres of Land belonging to the Morawaka,Halagawa Sanctuary and Three Acres belonging to the Hemmathagama,Pahanthimbugala Sanctuary have been destroyed due to a sudden fires occurred at the sanctuaries.
Morawaka and Hemmathagama Police Station Officers and the residents of the areas have jointly doused the fires according to the Police Media Unit.
The exact causes for the fires have not yet been identified the Police Media Unit has stated.

Panadura Crimes Unit Arrested Four Suspects With Illegal Firearms And Ammunition In Their Possession
The Crimes Unit of Panadura Police have today(16) arrested four persons including a Police Inspector attached to Police Special Task Force for keeping firearms and ammunition in their possession at Veedagama in Bandaragama(In Western Province)Area.
During the search of the Car the suspects were travelling in Police have found two firearms and twenty nine bullets without licenses.
The four suspects who are residents of Awissawella,Dambulla,Anuradhapura and Deniyaya Areas are due to be produced before Horana Magistrate Court.

Electronic Media Journalists Lodged A Complaint Against Ports Authority Chairman Dhammika Ranathunge For Threatening Them
Few Electronic Media Journalists have today(16) lodged a complaint at Keselwatte Police against the chairman of Sri Lanka Ports Authority Dhammika Ranathunge who is also the elder brother of Minister Arjuna Ranathunge for threatening them by using abusive words at Colombo High Court Premises while electronic media journalists were recording video footage of ports authority chairman arriving at the court.
The Ports Authority Chairman Dhammika Ranathunge has threatened the electronic media journalists who were at the court premises to cover the proceedings of bail application filed by former Chief Executive Officer of the Carlton Sports Network T.V Channel Nishantha Ranathunge who is also the brother of Ports Authority Chairman. He even photographed the faces of Electronic Media Journalists through his mobile phone the journalists have accused.

Cause Of The Deaths At Dehiwala Identified As Inhalation Of A Toxic Gas
The Post Mortum held regarding the four burnt bodies found at a three storied house at Kawdana,Dehiwala today (16) revealed the probable cause for the deaths as inhalation of a toxic gas according to the sources.
The burnt bodies of the mother ,father and two 13 year old girls were found inside of a house in Dehiwala this morning by the Dehiwala Police.
Earlier Police have suspected the electrocution as cause of these deaths.

Imprisoned Former CEO Of Carlton Sports Network T.V Channal Nishantha Ranthunge Has Been Released On Bail
The former Chief Executive Officer of the Carlton Sports Network Nishantha Ranathunge who is the fifth suspect remanded over money laundering charges along with former president Mahinda Rajapakshe's second son Yoshitha Rajapakshe and three others has been released on bail today(16) by the Kaduwela Magistrate Court.
Ranathunge who is the younger brother of Minister Arjuna Ranathunge was released on cash bail of Rs.100,000 and two personal bails of Rs.1 million each it has been reported.
The other four suspects remanded over money laundering charges have been released on bail on Monday by the Colombo High Court after considering their bail applications and Nishantha Ranathunge was released on bail today due to filing a separate bail application.
