Police Have Arrested Three Persons With Fake Rs.5000 Currency Note In Their Possession

The Police have yesterday (22) arrested Three Persons at a shop  in Dambagalle ,Meegahapitiya Area(In Monaragala District) with a fake Rs.5000 Currency Note in  their  possession.

The three suspects have attempted to purchase a Cigarette Packet from a shop  in Meegahapitiya Area by producing a fake  Rs.5000 Currency Note it has been revealed.After identifying  the currency note as a fake one the owner of the shop has informed it to the Police and the Police Officers arrived at the scene have arrested the three suspects with the fake currency note.

The suspects are residents of Bibila  Area it has been revealed.

Police Financial Crimes Investigations Department(FCID) Has Recorded A Statement From Central Province Chief Minister

The Police Financial Crimes Investigations Department(FCID) has recorded a statement from Chief Minister Of Central Province Sarath Ekanayake last morning over a financial irregularity occurred at the Department Of Cooperatives Development  in 2011.

The Central Province Chief Minister was questioned for several hours by  FCID ,regarding the financial irregularity it has been reported.

A Special Debate on the Proposal to appoint a Constitutional Assembly to draft a New Constitution is scheduled to be held at Parliament tomorrow(23) and the day after(24).

Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe has submitted a resolution to the Parliament on last January for appointing a Constitutional Assembly to formulate the new constitution .

The proposed Constitutional Assembly will consist of  all Parliamentarians and will  seeking the advise and views of Sri Lankan Public to formulate a new constitution for Sri Lanka.

New Zealand Prime Minister Is Due To Arrive Sri Lanka Tomorrow(23) For A State Visit

The Prime Minister Of New Zealand John Key is due to arrive Sri Lanka tomorrow(23) for a three day state visit.

During his visit the New Zealand Prime Minister is due to hold bi lateral talks with President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe .Prime Minister Key along with the New Zealand Business Delegation which accompanied  him to  Sri Lankan Visit is due to address the Ceylon Chamber Of Commerce on 25th Of February .

He is also due to inaugurate the Fonterra Demonstration Farm and Training Center at Pannala (In Kurunagala District).
