Two Persons Have Been Arrested By Police Who Attempted To Rob A Bank Customer

Two Persons have been arrested by the Police this evening after they attempted to rob a bag containing a large sum of money belonging to a customer of a Private Bank in Homagama Town.

The Bank Customer had withdrawn a large sum of money from the Private Bank and when he attempted to get in his vehicle withing the bank premises the two arrested suspects had attempted to rob him.

Then the Customer has screamed out seeking the help of others  and the Security Officers of the Private Bank and those who were there at that time  rushed the scene to help.

The Police  have managed to arrest the two suspects who tried to flee from the scene with the help of people who  gathered out there the Police have said.


Former President Rajapakshe Has Arrived At The Presidential Commission Of Inquiry To Give A Statement

The Former President Mahinda Rajapaskhe has arrived at the Presidential Commission Of Inquiry probing large scale fraud and corruption this morning for the second consecutive  day to give a statement regarding an allegation leveled against him at the Commission.

The Presidential Commission has summoned the former president Rajapakshe over the allegation leveled against him over failure to pay the payments for an election advertisements telecast ed by a state owned television channel during the last year's presidential election.

Colombo Chief Magistrate Has Acquitted Former Chief Justice Shirani Bandaranaike From A Case Filed By Bribery Commission

The Colombo Magistrate Court has today(19) acquitted   the Former Chief Justice Shirani Bandaranaike from the case filed by Bribery Commission over a failure to declare her assets and liabilities accurately .

The Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya  has acquitted  the Former Chief Justice over the charge after Bribery Commission has decided to withdraw the charge sheet against her.

After releasing from the charge The Colombo Chief Magistrate has also ordered to lifting  the ban imposed on former chief justice Shirani Bandaranayake   from travelling abroad and to release her passport.


Sri Lankan President Has Arrived In Austria For A Three Day State Visit

Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena who arrived in Austria for a three day state visit yesterday(18) had met Austrian President Heinz Fischer this evening and held bi lateral talks at Presidential Palace in Vienna.

After the talks President Sirisena is due to visit Austrian Chamber Of Commerce to address Austrian Investors and scheduled to meet Sri Lankan Community in Austria and well wishers later today(19) it has been reported.

After conclusion of his three day state visit to Germany,Sri Lankan President has arrived in Austria yesterday .
