Number Of Dengue Patients Has Risen In January

dengue සඳහා පින්තුර ප්‍රතිඵලDuring the month of January 4685 Dengue Patients have been reported from the island according to Epidemiology Unit of Sri Lanka.

The majority of these patients numbering 1533 has been reported from Colombo District while 585 patients have been reported from Jaffna and 430 patients  from Gampaha District.

The Epidemiologist are requesting the public to destroy Dengue Mosquito Breeding Places to avoid the spread of Dengue and Zika Virus Infection.

President Has Appointed A New Chief Of Staff For Sri Lankan Air Force

President Maithripala Sirisena has today(01) appointed Air Vice Marshal C.R Gurusinghe as the new chief of staff of  Sri Lanka Air Force.

Air Vice Marshal Gurusingha has earlier worked as the commanding officer of the Air Force Bases in Vavuniya,Ratmalana and Katunayake.

Sri Lanka Air Port Customs Officers Have Arrested Two Persons Who Attempted To Smuggle Foreign Currency Notes Out Of The Country

foreign currency සඳහා පින්තුර ප්‍රතිඵලSri Lanka Airport Customs Officers have arrested two Sri Lankans including a female who had been attempted to smuggle Foreign Currency Notes comprising 80,800 US Dollars and 6000 Swiss Francs out of the country at Katunayake,Bandaranaike International Air Port early this morning.

The two suspects have been arrested when they had attempted to board a Sri Lankan Air Lines Flight UL-402 which flying to Bangkok,Thailand around 1.40 a.m this morning.

The Foreign Currency Notes the suspects attempted to smuggle out of the country were concealed inside their luggage according to Customs Officers.

The Air Port Customs have launched an investigation on the incident.
