Sri Lanka Airport Customs Officers have arrested two Sri Lankans including a female who had been attempted to smuggle Foreign Currency Notes comprising 80,800 US Dollars and 6000 Swiss Francs out of the country at Katunayake,Bandaranaike International Air Port early this morning.The two suspects have been arrested when they had attempted to board a Sri Lankan Air Lines Flight UL-402 which flying to Bangkok,Thailand around 1.40 a.m this morning.
The Foreign Currency Notes the suspects attempted to smuggle out of the country were concealed inside their luggage according to Customs Officers.
The Air Port Customs have launched an investigation on the incident.
