Special Sri Lankan Flight Brought Back Sri Lankan Pilgrims Stranded At Buddhagaya And Trichy In India

A Special Mihin Lanka Air Line Flight which flew to Buddhagaya(Bodh Gaya) this morning has brought back 108 Sri Lankan Pilgrims from Buddhagaya and 160 Pilgrims from Trichy ,South India  who were stranded there due to the closure of Chennai Air Port.

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested the organizer of the Sri Lankan Pilgrims to Buddhagaya  upon his arrival at the Katunayake Air Port who was charged for stranded 108 Sri Lankan pilgrims at Buddhagaya.

According to  the pilgrims who returned from Buddhagaya ,The detained tour organizer has charged Rs.66,000 from each pilgrim but taken them to Buddhagaya only.

A Foreign Investor To Get A Maximum 5000 Acre Land For 99 Year Old Lease For A Project-Finance Minister

A Foreign Investor who is willing to invest in Sri Lanka  on projects which are labor intensive and focusing on job creation may be  getting a maximum 5000 acre land for 99 year old lease according to Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake.

The foreign firms are allowed to do Business here without paying 100% tax for the leasing of the land for their projects Finance Minister has said.However Foreign Investors will not be allowed to purchase land in  Sri Lanka he has further said.

Bank Documents Have Been Destroyed Due To A Fire Broke Out In A State Bank Building At Katunayake

Image result for fireDue to a sudden fire broke out this evening in the second story of a State Bank Building at Katunayake ,A part of the Building has been completely destroyed and a large number of Bank Documents are reported as burnt according to the Police.

However the Moneys stored at the Bank are safe the Police have said.

The fire has jointly doused by the Katunayake Air Port Fire Brigade ,Seeduwa Urban Council Fire Brigade and Air Force which arrived at the scene shortly after the fire has broke out.

Katunayake Police are conducting investigations on the incident.

Heavy Showers To Continue In Most Parts Of The Island - Meteorology Department

Image result for heavy showers in sri lankaDue to the Atmospheric Disturbance prevailing in Sri Lanka at present heavy showers assisted with strong winds will continue  in most parts of the country during  coming days according to the Meteorology Department.

The showers will occur mainly during the evening and in some parts of the island in morning session as well the Department has said.

Around 100 mili meter Heavy Showers  may occur in some parts of the island it has been revealed.
