Former President Has Commemorated The War Victory In Colombo
While government is due to commemorate the war victory tomorrow(19) the former President Mahinda Rajapkshe along with the group of provincial politicians and Cinema And Tele Drama Artistes have commemorated the War Victory in 2009 at the Viharamaha Devi Open Theater in Colombo today(18).
The Former President has inaugurated the commemoration by lighting a lamp which especially designed for the occasion.

Despite The Ban Of Commemorating LTTE Some Villagers In North Have Commemorated Tamil Victims
Although Government has banned commemorating LTTE in the Northern Province Tamil Community of some villages in North have today (18) openly commemorated the war dead for the first time in five years on the day which is sixth anniversary of ending three decade old civil war in Sri Lanka.
During a commemoration of war dead in Mullivaikkal Village in the North today a large number of Tamil People lit lamps and gave offerings of flowers on behalf of the Tamil Victims of war it has been reported.
The villagers were able to commemorate war dead in some way this year due to lifting of the ban by the present government regarding commemorating Tamil Victims of the war.

The Colombo High Court has today(18)discharged all charges leveled against Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake regarding the violation of Central Bank Regulations and Exchange Control Act.
The Attorney General has indicted Finance Minister Karunanayake on depositing Rs.390 Million in his private bank account which had later used to purchase shares of an another bank by violating the Central Bank Regulations and Exchange Control Act .

Cabinet Sub Committee Report On 20th Amendment To Be Handed Over To The President Today(18)
The report of the Cabinet Sub Committee appointed to look into the 20th Amendment on electoral reforms is scheduled to be handed over to the President Maithripala Sirisena this evening.
All Political Parties have been submitted their proposals to the 20th Amendment last week and the final draft is scheduled to be presented to the Cabinet this Wednesday .
Government has earlier stated that after the cabinet approval the 20th Amendment Draft Bill will present to the Parliament soon .
