Despite The Ban Of Commemorating LTTE Some Villagers In North Have Commemorated Tamil Victims

Although Government has banned commemorating LTTE in the Northern Province Tamil Community of some villages in North have today (18) openly commemorated the war dead for the first time in five years on the day which is  sixth anniversary of ending three decade old civil war in Sri Lanka.

During a commemoration of war dead in Mullivaikkal Village in the North  today a large number of Tamil People lit lamps and gave offerings of  flowers on behalf of the Tamil Victims of war it has been reported.

The villagers were able to commemorate war dead in some way this year due to lifting of the  ban by the present government regarding commemorating Tamil Victims of the war.
